Conversion Experience

I grew up in a family with one religion. My father is a leader and devoted servant of the Filipinista church. My family went to church every Sunday. Good works, tradition, and other ceremonial activities were the basis of our salvation.  We were active in religion but spiritually dead. We were open to God but far from Him. One Wednesday night, my cousin invited me to attend one of his Bible studies, it was September 22, 1999. Pastor Edwin Ramos, the Pastor of Covenant Faith Sanghan Cabadbaran Evangelical Free Church came and shared with us the gospel of salvation from John 3:16. And on that day, I understood the message of salvation and realized how wicked and miserable I was before God. So I surrendered my life to Jesus and accepted Him as my Lord and Savior. From that day forward, I started going to their church and got involved in the ministry.

Ministry Call

After my conversion, I became active in my home church doing ministry; such as evangelism, bible studies, and I participated in youth activities. One day during our fellowship we were going to do a personal devotion and I meditated in the passage of Acts 1:8 says; “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” From that passage, I was fully convinced that the work of the Lord is huge and I felt that God was calling me to be a witness of his wonderful word of life. I shared with the church leaders to do more for the Lord and they prayed for me. Eight months later, with the advice and support of the church, I decided to go to the Bible College to further my training and preparation for the ministry that God called me to do, which was in the year 2000.  After I graduated from the Bible School, I was privileged to work at one of the Christian companies whose mission is to help people in all aspects of life. I thank the Lord for almost ten years of experience working in the community as minister of the gospel and I was able to plant a church by God’s grace. Joy, excitement, and God’s calling is the reason why I keep doing God’s ministry; I find so much meaning and fulfillment in serving the Lord. I praise God for how he uses other people and circumstances to equip and prepare for me to do even more for His kingdom purposes.
