November 2019

I praise God for giving us good health and strength. I also express my gratefulness for those who pray for me and my church planting ministry. Thank you.

During the past month, most of my time was spent on the church building work with my members. As we need to complete the construction as soon as possible, we borrowed funds for the building. Our church members donated as much as they could afford. Some people sold their properties and gave the funds to the project. Our congregation is excited to have a new building. Every evening we meet for prayer for the construction of the church building. My father, Tha Khup, is busy with the work.

  • Pray for the construction to be completed efficiently and safely.
  • Pray for the payment on our loans.
  • Pray for our weekly services to continue to thrive and meet regularly.
  • Pray for our children’s ministry and outreach ministry.

It was amazing that during the rainy season, our church members were blessed with overall good health. Some got sick, but no one lost their life or needed to go to the hospital. They all recovered without needing to make any payment for treatment. God heals them. Praise the Lord.

Praise the Lord for the health of the church members.

This month we are planning a three-day gospel training. We will invite new people who live in the town and others from neighboring villages.

  • Pray for the training to help the current believers grow in their faith and to bring others to trust in God.
  • Pray for our upcoming missions conference. It will be next summer at our church.

July/August 2019

Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ. I have boldness and courage in doing God’s ministry in Myanmar because I know you are standing with me in prayer for my church planting ministry. Though the rain disturbed our weekly programs, my members did their best to faithfully join the weekly prayer meetings, home cells, and Sunday worship service.

  • Pray for our children’s ministry and outreach ministry.

We continued the construction of our new church building this last month, and we have almost finished the building. Sometimes the church members can assist in the process and are excited to help. We are thrilled to see everything coming together. We have debts for the building materials and the wages of the workers; pray for us to pay these off at an appropriate time.

  • Pray for the construction to be completed in God’s timing and for the process to go smoothly.

Give thanks for the current!

Last month, Daw (Mrs.) San joined our church weekly prayer meetings and worship services. She has one married daughter, and they live in a village in the Mindat township. Saw had been staying with her daughter’s family and they were feeding her. Later on, they had some problems with each other, and San’s daughter chased her out of the house, and San came to us. She is old and unable to work for her daily bread, so we are doing our best to feed her and provide for her needs. I believe that it is God’s will for us to care for orphans and widows, according to James 1:27. San loves God and is vocal about her faith and gratefulness to God, giving witness in front of our congregation.

  • Pray for San to be cared for and have her daily needs met.
  • Pray for her daughter and for reconciliation.

We plan to conduct a three-day gospel training this coming November. Pray for this program, for new people to join us and to come to the knowledge of salvation in Jesus Christ.

  • Pray for our gospel training and the preparations for this event.
  • Pray for the mission’s conference being held at our church next summer.

June 2019

First, I would want to praise God for His love and goodness to us. Second, thank you to all my prayer partners and contributors to our church planting ministry.

We held a gospel training event taught by two evangelists from Kalaymyo, Charly and Siang. We had three days of instruction and four evenings with worship services. The members were encouraged and strengthened by the preaching and teaching of the evangelists. Praise the Lord.

  • Pray for the principles taught to be applied to the lives of the believers and for more people to come to know the Lord.

Praise the Lord for this gospel training.

The youth group is working hard to raise funds for our new church building. We made vinyl cards with Bible verses to sell to other towns, cities, and villages such as Htaylin and Kyaut Thuh towns. When the boy gave five loaves and two fish to Jesus, He multiplied this gift, and we are also donating to the new church building and trusting that God will provide all the needs. It has been encouraging that the majority of the church members are working hard to finish the construction. We were blessed to receive funds from White Fields and individuals. We wish to complete the building as soon as possible or at least before next year, so our worship of God is not hindered.

  • Pray for our church building in Saw Myo, the foundation is complete, and the rest of the building is in progress.
  • Pray for the Lord to provide for our needs.

I went to Tidim township with my family and had the opportunity to preach the Word of God. We visited the village of my wife’s parents, which is located in the northwest area of Myanmar. Every Sunday, I preach at their church.

  • Pray for our children’s ministry, including the Sunday school and the Kindergarten.
  • Pray for the outreach ministry.

We experienced many diseases include the regular flu, a more severe form of influenza and dungy fever. Among the church members, many people were sick, mostly the elderly women who caught the more severe form of flu called elephant flu, which is more dangerous, and they were ill longer. These women have limited money to purchase treatment, and so we tried our best to help them. They shared, “whenever the church members pray for us, we get much better.” It was a blessing to hear them express the goodness of God in their daily lives.

  • Pray for the health of the church members to improve and for the ability to receive treatment as needed.
  • Pray for healing for those who are ill with the more severe form of flu.

May 2019

Thank you for your prayers and financial support. The gospel light is shining brightly in Saw Myo and its surround areas due to your prayers. Thank you for supporting our ministry.

Last month we held a women’s training for three days. Our teachers were Sayama (Teacher) Cangte and Sayama (Teacher) Mawite from Kalemyo. Cangte taught the women’s group with twenty-three ladies. They were happy and encouraged by the instruction. They learned about family life, the role, and duty of a housewife, and relationships with husband and children from a Biblical perspective. Mawite taught the twenty children. They also enjoyed the teaching.

  • Pray for the women who attended the training to apply the principles taught into their lives and glorify God with their actions and words.
  • Pray for the families to honor God in their relationships.

We have started the church building, and the foundation is complete. Praise God! We are prayed hard for the whole building to be completed within this year and for God to provide the funds it requires. We published a thousand pieces of “a poem of the tithe” in Burmese and are selling them for the building fund.

  • Pray for the building to be completed and pray that we can sell enough to finish the construction.

Our weekly programs are meeting regularly. The prayer meetings and home cells are doing well. The members are diligent in worshipping God and doing the church work at the worship services on Sundays. Though many members are struggling to make ends meet in their daily lives, they still love God and serve Him faithfully. The women’s group is highly effective and helpful for us. Praise the Lord.

  • Pray for the hard work of the church members to bring more people to faith in Jesus Christ.
  • Pray for the children’s ministries, the Sunday school, and the Kindergarten.

Give thanks we have members who are active in our church programs.

April 2019

We had a two-day gospel training with speaker evangelist Lal from Pyin Oo Lwin. By the grace of God, Daw (Mrs.) Hlui was saved. She is the daughter of one of our church members but was not a true Christian and had married a Buddhist man. Her mother frequently requested our prayers for her family’s salvation. Hlui’s husband was rude and always drinking, while drunk, he would fight and beat her. He forbade her to go to the church. She could not tolerate this anymore and divorced him, leaving to go to her mother’s home. She attended the training and was impressed by the teaching of salvation. Hlui accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. While sharing her testimony, Hlui states, “before I came here I had a dream, and in my dream, I heard a voice saying, wake up my daughter and go to a safe place for terrible problems will take place in this area soon. I was distraught and desired to go to church. I prayed, and the Lord brought me here, and I learned the great salvation of Jesus Christ. Now I know that God forgives and saves me from my sin. I am confidently at peace now. Praise the Lord.” Hlui needed help, so we did our best to get a house for her and her children.

  • Pray for Hlui’s needs to be met and praise God for her salvation.

Give thanks for the effectiveness of our teachings during the water festival holidays.

Our weekly programs are faithfully continuing. We have prayer meetings, sharing times, and Bible study programs on every available day. Our new members are excited to do God’s Work. We are happy for our new church building that is being built.

Pray for our church building, the foundation has been laid, and we have started the construction. Pray for God to provide all the needs.

  • Pray for our kindergarten school to be able to open up again soon.

February/ March 2019

I praise God for calling me to serve full-time among my own people. I want to say a special thank you to those who pray and support my ministry.

I traveled to evangelize and share the gospel with several people in the last months. Among them, Daw (Mrs.) Hlu and Daw (Mrs.) Yaw have opened their hearts to receive Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior. They came to our house and stayed with us for four days, each morning my father and I taught them about salvation and prayed with them. After this time, they knew clearly how Jesus Christ had paid for sin on the cross and understood salvation. When they became believers, these women were so happy that everywhere they went, they shared their testimony. Hlu and Yaw are active in our weekly church services.

Praise the Lord for the salvation of Hlu and Yaw.

  • Pray for their testimony to bring others to faith in God.
  • Pray for them to overcome all temptations and pressures as new believers.

I attended the twenty-first annual Assembly and Spiritual Convention of our Church which was held at Sekan village, in Sagaing division. It was encouraging to hear the messages, and the teachings were excellent. We had a leadership training at Suan Taung village in Southern Chin State. The Lord bless our meetings, we learned practical things to apply to our daily lives and were much encouraged and strengthened by the teaching of our field director. Praise the Lord.

Our weekly programs are going well, we have newcomers almost every Sunday service.

  • Pray for our outreach to the surrounding villages and our city.
  • Pray for the Lord to open more doors to us.
  • Pray for our church building.
  • Pray for the kindergarten school so that we may open again soon.

January 2019

  • Pray for the construction of our church building. Jesus said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” Matthew 19:26
  • Pray for safety for the workers.

Give thanks for the faithfulness of the church members who attend the worship services and their willing support in building the new church.

I attended the Leadership Training in Tahan-Kalaymyo. We studied the book of Romans which is excellent and helpful for ministry. The mission pastors and I visited churches in the Kalay Valley and shared the gospel with them. We traveled to the Letpanchaung, Min Hla, Aung Ywa, Cicai, Taungphilar, Sekan, and Myiangsung villages. We continued our journey to the Lairawn Presbytery Conference in the Cangelsawl village where our group of several pastors gathered to share our ministries and visions. We discussed future ministry plans and how to reach new fields with The Good News.

  • Pray for the pastor’s safety as they travel and for the gospel message to be welcomed in the villages.
  • Pray for many people to come to faith in God, there are many non-Christians in the surrounding villages and even our city.
  • Pray for more doors to open so we may reach people with the good news.

Praise God that due to your prayer help, we have not been hindered in our worship of God in our area.

  • Pray for the kindergarten school.
  • Pray for the opportunities the school provides to reach the children and their parents with the gospel message.

December 2018

Thank you for your prayers and support. I wish you a “Happy New Year” and may the new blessings from above be poured upon you all. Our ministry this Christmas resulted in new people hearing the gospel of Jesus Christ. In our Christmas celebrations, we had the adults and children together in one group, and some of the children of non-Christians also joined us. We had a  fasting prayer on the last day of the year to remember the blessings of the year before and welcome the plans God has for the new year.

  • Pray for the people who heard the gospel for the first time to be curious and want to know more about Jesus Christ.
  • Pray for the children of the non-Christians to be able to attend the worship service and to be the open door that brings their family to faith in God.
  • Pray for many new people to be saved in the next year.

We held a gospel training for three-days, and around fifty people joined our camping. Six people received Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord. We went carol singing on two of these nights, and several people opened their doors and invited us to share the good news.  Praise the Lord!

  • Pray for the six new believers as they grow in their faith and relationship with God.
  • Pray for those who only listened but did not respond to the message to continue to wonder about what they heard and to be saved soon.
  • Pray for our church building.

October/November 2018

Thank you for your prayers. We conducted a gospel campaign for two-days with our members and some new people also joined us. They were encouraged by the preaching.

Daw (Mrs.) Hlui Thung is from Matwa Tui village was seriously ill. Her husband came to us and requested us to pray for her on multiple occasions. She got better and returned to her village. A year later, she was sick again and hospitalized at Saw Myo General hospital. Her doctors gave up on treating her because she was not getting better. She was disappointed and had no hope for life. Her husband again brought her to us, and we prayed hard to God to heal her. She is getting better and has been able to join our church services every week for the past month since they moved to our village. She tearfully shared her testimony saying “I was suffering from several illnesses for the past six years, I had no hope to live, but God has healed me now. Praise the Lord. He is my Savior.”

Give thanks for the healing and Hlui Thung and pray for her health to continue to improve.

  • Pray for her witness to reach others with the gospel as she shares her joy in the Savior.

I was invited by Pastor Ling Khui Sing, who is serving as a pastor in Htay Lin town, to teach a follow-up Bible training program to the new believers. Thirteen people attended the two-day gathering. I visited the members at their homes and encouraged them with the Word of God and prayer. The number of church members is growing, and they have completed the rough construction of a new church building.

Give thanks for the success of the Bible training program.

  • Pray for the continued growth and faithfulness of the new believers.

We are planning to have a gospel campaign for three days before Christmas and have a celebration on Christmas day with all the church members. Pray for our celebration as we prepare and for the outreach-ministry we conduct during the Christmas season.

  • Pray for the upcoming Christmas celebration to bring many more new believers to faith. Pray for those who evangelize to have courage and wisdom in their conversations.
  • Pray for the leaders and speakers at the gospel campaign as they prepare for preaching the gospel message of love and salvation to their people.

September 2018

Pastor Solomon’s New Baby

It is encouraging to me to know that so many faithful believers have been praying for my ministry.  “May the Almighty God bless you abundantly”  Genesis 12:3. The Lord blessed our ministry through the addition of a new family. The father of this family is the principle of the high school in Saw Myo, and they moved here last May but were not attending any church. They are very trustworthy people and are believers in Christ. The father said, “while I am working in Saw Myo, my family and I will join your church and attend weekly meetings regularly.” Praise the Lord!

Give thanks for the new family who joined the church and pray for their witness to the community.

I visited Kanpalet and Bakung with evangelist Khumte from Min Hla. We conducted a one-day gospel teaching in both villages. Khumte preached in the Chin language, and I translated into Burmese. We also did training at our place in Saw Myo. He taught about eternal life and salvation history. All the church members were able to attend, and we had some new people join us to listen to his teaching. Everyone was happy and very encouraged.

Give thanks for the success of our gospel training in the villages of Kanpalet, Saw Myo and Bakung, and the encouragement from evangelist Khumte.

  • Pray for the unbelievers who joined to come to salvation in Jesus Christ.

My mother visits door-to-door, Christians or non-Christians, she enters the house and prays for them. While doing this outreach, two women gave her a letter. When she read it, she realized it was not a letter but instead was twenty-seven questions about God, creation, and the salvation story of Jesus Christ. The questions were initially from monks, and they searched for those who could answer the questions. I tried my best to answer all the questions and have almost completed the full list. When I have finished, I will return to the two women, and they will bring the answers to a chief monk in Kanpalet. He will read the responses, and we pray that all may believe in Jesus Christ.

  • Pray for my answers to be clear and comprehensive to the readers.
  • Pray for the two women and the monks who read the answers to come to an understanding of the gospel message and believe in Jesus Christ.
  • Pray for our outreach to the surrounding villages and the people in Saw Myo.

Give thanks for the donations given for the construction of the church building.

August 2018

The Lord saved Mr. Niang Kim’s family through our ministry in Saw Myo, there are seven members in his family. They are of the Kanpalet tribe with a Buddhist background. My father invited another man, Mr. Niang Ling, to join our gospel training. He and his wife joined us, and I also shared the gospel at their home to all their family members. They were very happy and accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and have joined the church.

A new couple, Lwin Moe Aung and his wife San San Aye also joined the training. Lwin Moe Aung said “On the first day of the training, when I heard about the salvation of Jesus Christ, I felt peace in my heart. I did not know why, but on the second and third day, I received more peace and happiness. So I decided to believe in Jesus Christ who died for my sins and gave me eternal life. I have no more burdens, which were very heavy for me to carry, I praise his name!” He and his wife are now believers. They have two children. This entire group of new believers have dedicated their lives to Jesus and joined the church. We will continue teaching them about salvation and when they are ready, we will baptize them.

  • Pray for these new believers to grow in their faith. Pray for their commitment and understanding of the gospel as they prepare to be baptized.

We recently welcomed two preachers who visited us and conducted three days of Bible training. We had members from our church and new people, some even traveled from other villages. Five people shared their testimonies. The participants were encouraged and happy.

Give thanks for the success of our Bible training.

  • Pray for our ministry to new people around us as we do evangelism.
  • Pray for new believers to grow in their understanding of the gospel and to join our church.
  • Pray for the church building we are starting after the rainy season is over.

Thank you for the donations to support us in building the church.

July 2018

Last month, I visited the Bagon church and held three days of Bible training with the church members and new people from the village who were interested. The participants were happy and encouraged and the Lord added more members to their church.

Give thanks for the success of our Bible training and the progress of the church ministry.

  • Pray for the continued attendance of the new members and for more people to join the church.

U Thang Bu and his wife were the first converts of Bagon church, but their children, especially two sons were not acting like Christians. They were drunk almost every day and they made problems for their parents and their neighbors. The parents are quite old but very active in the church and always prayed for their children. This past month, both sons joined our training and they stopped drinking. They were closer to God and to accept Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord. The parents were so happy that they donated their young cow for our training.

  • Join U Thang Bu and his wife in praying for their two sons to continue attending the church and for their lives to be transformed.

I traveled to Kanpalet and preached at their Sunday service. As it was it was the rainy season, it is difficult for many to attend the church service, but the members were faithful and tried to be good examples to the non-Christians by continuing to attend church. The rainy season is also the busiest and difficult season in Myanmar. The Lord protected us from floods, storms, and other disasters.

  • Pray for safety through the remainder of the rainy season.
  • Pray for the areas that are experiencing these natural disasters.

Spring 2018

I taught a three-day gospel campaign at Cilawng village. There is no road to get there, and it is about a 4-mile walk. The village is small and rural with the majority of the people being Buddhist and the rest spirit worshipers. When we arrived ten families were living there, and all came to listen to me preach the salvation story. They said to me,” No one ever told us what you are telling us about.” Two family members were impressed and said that they wanted to believe in Jesus Christ and become Christians. A person from another village nearby joined us at our teaching. They had heard the gospel from my father, Tha Khup. I praised the Lord for the open the door to visit these people; I will follow up and continue ministering to them.

We had a successful gospel campaign in my area where I taught about Buddha and Jesus Christ. I compared the two, and when I was done with the teaching, eight people made a profession of faith in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. My father Tha Khup baptized them the day before Christmas. Praise the Lord!

The family of U Thang Hong also professed faith in Jesus Christ and were baptized this Spring. Their relatives who live in Kanpalet town heard that the family converted to Christianity. The relatives threaten to report them to the government and put them in jail. At first, U Thang Hong and his family were worried but later said, “We have found the living and true God, we will not be afraid of men because Jesus is with us. We will never turn back, whatever things happen in our family, we will worship Jesus forever.” This issue has caused them to be secure in their faith.

Our Saw Myo new church is progressing rapidly. We now have more than 50 members including children. We fast with a focus on prayer for two days each month. We pray for our ministry, church, sponsors, prayer partners, and a new church building. I thank God that 25 people from my church have joined our fasting and prayer time.

(2) This past month I traveled to two villages Outpuitung and Chithuktazar, there I met two families who decided to become believers in Jesus. They asked if we could appoint a pastor to lead them and teach them the Word of God. They said they might run into opposition now that they have become Christians. These two families are the only believers in Chithuktazar everyone else believes in Buddhism.

One of the new believers testified that “After we believed in Jesus, our family was blessed, we could pay all our debts on time because we prayed, and God answered our prayers. When we prayed to Buddha, our prayers fell on deaf ears and were not answered. Jesus is the true God because he has the power to answer our prayers. We praise His name that we have experienced His love in our family life. He is the true and living God.”

I also had a man named U Than Ma to come to me for treatment of a leg injury. I taught him in his village one time previously about salvation, but during that time he did not accept what I was preaching. When he came to my house, we spoke again about salvation and this time he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. Praise the Lord because his wife also believed in Jesus.

In addition to this, I met an old man who professed to be a Christian but had continued to live carnally with heavy drinking almost every day. After listening to me explain the Gospel, he received Jesus Christ as his Savior and joined our church.

I request you pray diligently for our area especially Saw Myo, Buddhists extremists are now living in the town. Sometimes they want to stop our ministry, but because of your prayers, we continue to serve Jesus boldly. At this time we have a complicated situation with our church building. The authorities are applying pressure on us since we meet in a private house for church. According to the law we need to have a separate building/property to hold our services. Therefore we need to build a new building in Saw Myo as soon as possible. We plan to start the construction during the summer season this year. Therefore, we need your prayers as we overcome these obstacles.

(3) During our water festival this month our church organized a gospel camp for our members and non-Christians. Our camping program was a success thanks to your prayers. We had a woman named Daw Li Niang who accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. She joined our church in April along with her family. Growing up she did not believe in religion but a few months ago when her husband passed away she began to think about life and death. She recently told me, “Though I face difficulties and problems in my life and family, I will not turn away from Jesus who loves and gives me eternal life.” During our festival, we also had some Buddhists that came and heard the gospel message. They understood the plan of salvation through Jesus Christ, join me in praying they will become disciples of Him.

A new believer in our congregation U Than Mana shared his family background and history with me. “We are a poor family after we became Christian my neighbors and relatives looked down on us and hated us and tried to cut off our relationships. It became a big problem for my family, but we experienced God’s presence during that time. As such, we had peace in our hearts which we could not compare with our old life experiences. My children are going to join the church’s education program, but we have nothing to support them, so we prayed, and God provided our needs in time. Praise the Lord.”

(Solomon) I had a vision that I could have a center for older adults who need care. My father has patients that come to him for treatment and care but we have no room for them right now. Please pray that the Lord will provide a care center for these people so that the Gospel may be extended to the surrounding people.

Last week we had a women’s group visit us from Kalemyo. They did a two-day training for the church. Everyone that attended was happy; it was such a blessing to have the guest spend time with us and teach us.

(4) Let me share with you about Daw Hting, a woman, who was the owner of my fathers’ rented house. She is a nominal Christian who suffered from bad health, She would regularly go to the hospital for treatments but was not able to recover. When she traveled to other villages, she always came back very weak and sick. I asked her to join our prayer meeting, and I taught her the gospel of Jesus Christ, our church also prayed for her recovery. A few weeks ago she was healed and was no longer tired or weak. She believed in Jesus Christ as her Savior and Lord and dedicated her life to God. She joined our church and also attends our weekly bible studies and goes on home visits to share the gospel. When she goes to the store or visits her neighbors, she shares her testimony with anyone who will listen. Daw Hting has become a great witness for Christ. She invites people to church whenever she meets anyone new. Her biggest concern is for her daughter’s family. They have not accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior, join us in praying Daw Hting’s family will become believers.

(5) Daw Sein is a widow whose husband died when her children were still young. Her children are now grown, married, and live in different places. Daw Sein has lived alone for many years. During the time she has lived alone she experiences evil spirits taunting her as well as telling her about people’s lives. She became a fortune teller in our community. But one day a lady from our church invited her to join us. We taught her about salvation and eventually she received Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. Daw Sein prayed in the name of Jesus Christ and the spirits finally departed and left her alone. She has begun sharing her testimony during church service. Praise the Lord for her testimony and keep her in your prayers that she would grow in the knowledge of God and would be a great witness for Christ.

December 2017

Thanks to your prayer assistance, our ministry went well in December. We taught the salvation story in the villages of Saw Myo and Thang Om. I explained salvation in Jesus Christ and my friend Ling Hung taught every evening. About 20-25 people joined us from the village. I realize the fruit of evangelism might take time to ripen, but overall the people seemed encouraged to hear of hope in Jesus. We had a Christmas fellowship dinner but ran into a problem with two people who came. They are from the Seven Day Adventist church in Mindat town. They opposed our teaching and tried to make trouble for us, but we are determined to pray for them despite our differences.

In December we had a successful gospel campaign in my area. I taught about Buddha and Jesus Christ. I compared the two, and when I was done with the teaching, eight people made a profession of faith in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. My father Tha Khup baptized them the day before Christmas. Praise the Lord!

The family of U Thang Hong also professed faith in Jesus Christ and were baptized early December.

We went Christmas caroling and visited around 30 families in Saw Myo and shared a short message of the good news and distributed gospel tracts. The people welcomed us including some government workers who invited us to visit them at their homes to sing Christmas songs. It was great news to know that many people knew about Jesus who was incarnated and born to save the world. I believe that it was because of your prayers, that the doors to share the gospel opened wider than they had before.

Our Saw Myo new church is progressing rapidly. We now have more than 50 members including children. We fasted with a focus on prayer for two days. We prayed for our ministry, church, sponsors, prayer partners, and a new church building. I thank God that 25 people joined the fasting and prayer from my church.

Prayer Request:

  • Give thanks to God for the conversion of eight people during the Christmas season. Pray their faith and trust in God may increase.
  • Give thanks to God for the success of our gospel training. Pray for the Thang Om villagers that they may come to the saving knowledge of God.
  • Pray for my plan to conduct a three-day gospel teaching in a new village Kyi Lawng village during the new year. There are no Christians in the village. Pray that my teaching would be effective for those who listen.
  • Pray for our children’s ministry.

In Christ’s service, Solomon Phun Kam

November 2017

In November our national director Pastor Thawng and his family along with Pastor Aih Kham Ko visited us to strengthen, encourage and help our ministry. They also helped us financially so that we could build a new road for our new land. We were very happy. We had three worship services while they were here. The pastors preached and encouraged us with a great message Praise the Lord.
I visited Hantawary and preached for two nights in November 2017. The group that I was teaching to was small, but they were excited to hear the word of God. I observed that the group had great faith in God, and they were involved in serving the church activities.

We also had Pastor Cung Nawl Piang from Naypidaw visit for three days. During his stay, he taught salvation history. Every day we held teaching sessions for new convert members and newcomers. We had a couple attend, U Thang Hung and his wife, both Buddhist. They hated Christians, but they came by the invitation of one woman who attends my church. It was amazing how the Holy Spirit spoke to them, and they both received Christ as their Lord and Savior. They were very happy. At the end of the month, both of them dedicated their lives to God and joined our church. It was an honor to see my father baptized them. Praise the Lord.
We had new people attend and hear our teaching; they seemed interested in Jesus Christ. Many chins are Buddhist among us; please help us to continue to pray for them.

We are preparing our Christmas service; we pray that we will be effective in our community and everyone who comes will hear the Good News of Jesus Christ. We are hoping for 50-100 during this season. We have been praying for the fund and the teaching ministry that the Lord may provide all our needs. Thank you very much for your prayers.

I attended the four-day pastors’ Bible training in Kalaymyo. They taught us the book of Romans; it was a good study.

October 2017

By God’s mercy and grace, he enables me to serve him as a church planter; it is because of you, my prayer partners who stand with me by prayer and financial support that I can go out and speak and teach the gospel of Jesus Christ.

My father Tha Khup, myself and evangelist Ling Hung went to Thang Om village and did a successful three-day gospel crusade in October. Although the villagers are Buddhist, we were welcomed by two leaders, they were U Nai, he was a “Gowpakah” (leader of Buddhists) in Thang Om village, and another man was U Ki who served as a monk for 15 years. These two leaders and their family members, a total of eight people professed faith to Jesus during our crusade. We have great hope for other people in the village that they also may come to know Jesus Christ. There are about 30 families in the village, and we plan to conduct at least three days of gospel crusades and Christmas celebrations with them. We need your continued prayers that our time will be fruitful.

My father and I had a two-day gospel training in our town, Saw Myo. The Lord opened doors for new people to accept the Lord and get baptized. We plan to baptize during Christmas time. My wife Cing Bawi continues to teach the Kindergarten kids, even though we have non-Christian parents that forbid their kids to join her. We are doing our best to take care of 8 kids in total. Our regular weekly programs are doing well. Praise the Lord.

Prayer Request:

  • Give thanks to God for the success of gospel crusade in Thang Om village and the conversion of two Buddhist leaders and their family members.
  • Pray for our church new building; we pray diligently for it.
  • Pray more souls may be won for Christ.
  • Pray for our Christmas celebrations in Saw Myo and Thang Om village.

I am encouraged to hear that you have been praying for my ministry. Thank you very much for your financial support too. May the bless you all.

September 2017

First of all, I would like to share with you that your prayer help is very effective for my ministry. Thank you very much. May the Lord bless you with abundant blessings.

In September I conducted a two day Bible training from September 15 to 16, 2017 in Saw Myo with my father. I thank God that three new people accepted and confessed that they believed in Jesus Christ. Praise the Lord. Another two people were also interested in knowing more about salvation. Praise the Lord! My new members need training because they still follow the system of their culture and lifestyle, e.g., they’re still afraid of evil, etc., therefore, we tried our best to conduct a teaching program every month in my home.

On September 17, I had conducted a one-day Bible training at Bagon Church which is about 6 miles from my home. Pastor Kui Thang is pastoring there. They all were encouraged and strengthened. We had joined as a member of “Saw Myo Christian Fellowship.” We have led worship service the last Sunday of each month.

Myself, my father and Pastor Tin Saw have a plan to conduct a gospel campaign at Thang Awm village. I had mentioned in my previous monthly facts about it. We already discussed with the leaders of the village that we would do the campaign on October 17-20, 2017. They all come from a Buddhists background, we discussed with the leaders of their community, and they all agreed to have the training. We secured the dates. Please pray for this program.

Prayer Request:

  • Please give thanks to God for the conversion of three people and pray that they may grow in faith.
  • Please pray for our plan to conduct evangelism campaign at Thang Awm village, so that they may change and come to believe in Jesus Christ.
  • Please give thanks to God for our weekly ministry, and pray for our members.
  • Pray for our nursery ministry with my wife.

I am encouraged much to hear that many of you have been praying hard for my ministry. Thank you very much for your financial support too. May the bless you all.

August 2017

Thanks to your prayers our ministry of home cells, prayer meetings, Sunday services, and Kindergarten school classes went well in August. I give thanks to God for his blessings!

On August 5, I led a Bible study training with our members, amongst them one woman came to faith, and my father baptized her by water on August 6, 2017.  I also taught a Bible teaching class for two days on August 18 and 19. About 20 people joined us, and one family accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. They started attending worship service on August 20. I also visited Kanpalet town and preached on August 27 at Pastor Tin Saw’s church. They invited several new people, and after the service, many of them wanted to know more so I continued teaching on salvation and the history of Jesus Christ.

Our Kindergarten school is going well, our kids are happy and enjoy attending class every day. We communicate with the parents and hope we can evangelize and share the gospel with them soon.

Prayer Request:

  • Give thanks to God for the conversion of one family and one woman. Please pray that they may stand firm in faith and grow in the knowledge of God.
  • Give thanks to God also for our Kindergarten ministry; we pray that when the rainy season is over, more kids will join us.
  • Please pray for new people and winning souls. I have a plan to teach the salvation of Jesus Christ.
  • Please pray for a new building on our recently purchased property.

I am very encouraged to hear that many of you have been praying for my ministry. Thank you very much for your financial support.

May the Lord bless you all, Solomon Phun Kam

July 2017

By the grace of God our weekly ministry of Bible studies, home cells, prayer meetings, and Sunday services went well. Our Kindergarten school is progressing steadily, we have eight kids and hope that more children will join when the rainy season is over.

At the beginning of July, I was doing personal evangelism and met some people who were abusive and would not allow me to speak to them. I took courage and departed from there, and after traveling a short distance had the opportunity to share Jesus with the bus ticket officer. I discussed the Gospel with him for several hours, he was a good man and listened carefully asking several questions which I answered as best I could. He does not desire to become a believer yet, but, I was happy to meet him and hope the Lord may draw him to faith in Him.

There is a small congregation at the Baptist church in the town of Salin where I was invited to come and preach the word of God to on July 9, 2017. It was an encouraging time and the Lord’s name was praised and glorified. From July 11-21, 2017, I attended the church planting leadership training in Yangon. It was beneficial for me, and I hope that it will be helpful for my ministry. When I returned home I met a widow named Daw Leng who is a Buddhist from the Kanpalet Chin tribe. She lives alone and has no one to take care of her, to survive she has worked as a servant in a Burmese house for several years. I shared the Gospel with her, and she expressed interested in learning more and desired to attend our fellowship. However there is a problem, her master and mistress control her and decide where she can go and what she can do. She said,” I desire to believe in Jesus, but it will be difficult for me to join your church, I will need to get permission from my house owner to attend the service on Sunday morning (A time I would normally work).” Join me in keeping Daw Leng in your prayers so that she may believe in Jesus Christ and come to faith in Him.

Prayer Request:

  • Give thanks to God for our weekly programs and outreach ministry.
  • Give thanks to God also for our Kindergarten school and pray that more kids may come and join us.
  • Please pray for reaching new people so that God may open the heart of people that are hungry for the gospel.
  • Please pray for good health and strength.

I am delighted and encouraged to hear that many of you have been praying hard for my ministry. Thank you so much for your support. May the Lord bless you all!

June 2017

First of all, I want to praise and thank God for giving my wife and me the opportunity to serve Him with and have good health. In June I taught a Bible study program every Wednesday and Thursday nights for four weeks. This program aims to teach new believers so that they may grow in the knowledge of God and have a closer relationship with Him. On Sunday, June 11, I visited the church at Kanpalet, which is Pastored by Tin Saw and preached the word of God. After service, we had a Bible discussion time with the believers there. We had a blessed time together.

By God’s grace, we also taught a Bible teaching from June 22-24, for three days. I taught for two days, and my father Tha Khup taught one day. We invited some non-Christians and emphasized the salvation story in our teaching. We were happy that non-believers were interested in our teaching. Please continue to pray that they may be hungry and thirsty for hearing more of the salvation story of Jesus Christ.

The Lord opened a door for us to visit non-Christians in Thang Om village, I traveled there with Pastor Tin Saw, and we stayed there from June 26-27, 2017. While there we met with some locals who were Buddhist and the leader of their community. We taught them about the way of eternal life through Jesus Christ they were interested in what we taught and asked many questions. The Holy Spirit moved in them, and they invited us to return and teach again in October and December 2017. Please pray for us for the people are excited to learn more about Jesus Christ. Praise the Lord!

Prayer Request:

  • Please give thanks to God for reaching new people in Thang Om Village. Continue to pray for them that our bible teaching in October and December will be effective.
  • Give thanks to God for our weekly services, such as Bible study, home cell, children programs, prayer meetings, and worship services.
  • Continue to pray for boldness in sharing the good news to non-believers.

I am happy and encouraged to hear that many of you have been praying diligently for my ministry. Thank you very much for your support. May the Lord bless you all.

IMG_0719First of all, I want to praise and thank God for giving my wife and me good health in this season of life. I am grateful to you all for your prayers and financial support; I pray that our Almighty God will bless all of you with many blessings.

From May 2-3, Abigail and her friend Miss Kimte came and conducted two days of training for children and adults at our church. Abigail taught the adults about “The life of a Christian family” while Miss Kimte taught the children. We were all edified and encouraged by their teaching. We hosted a three-day Gospel campaign in our village from May 6-8 with the assistance of the Christian Fellowship of Saw Myo. We invited everyone both children and adults who were not believers in Jesus. Our speaker was Paing Soe, who is a Buddhist convert. He preached the Gospel to the adults while my wife and I taught the children, more than 50 kids attended our program. Praise the Lord.

  • Please pray that Kindergarten would be one of the key ways to evangelize the people around us.

Thanks to your prayers our Kindergarten school opened successfully on May 22, 2017. As we are just starting, we only have ten students, but with hope, we are praying more children will join us. We have prayer meetings almost every night, though we are few I hope that the Lord will add many more members to our congregation shortly.

March 2017

First of all, I want to send my special thanks to you all for your prayer and financial support. It is indispensable in my ministry. The first week of March I attended the 18th Spiritual Convention and Annual Assembly of our denomination at Thipcang village, Chin State, near the India border. I had the opportunity to share my testimony at the Conference. It was an encouraging time, and I enjoyed worshiping God together with all my co-laborers and friends. The conference went from February 28 – March 5, 2017. I arrived home on March 7, 2017.

When I returned, home I started a children’s English teaching program. I have 21 students, 15 of whom are Non-Christians. As a part of the teaching, I shared the gospel and prayed for them. We plan to host a gospel camping trip during the water festival holidays. As we host this, we need your prayers. I believe that God has answered our prayers in that we were informed by our country director Rev. Thawng that White Fields would support us to buy some property. Praise the Lord. Thank you very much.

Pastor Piang came to our church and helped our ministry by sharing and teaching the salvation history in the second week of March. We praised God for teaching. We are planning to open “Hope Nursery School” in the second week of May. Please pray for us.

Prayer Request:

  • Give thanks to God for our weekly programs and English teaching program for children.
  • Please pray for our plan of gospel camping trip during the water festival holidays.
  • Please pray for us to find a property to buy for our church building. We really need to have our own property so that we are not hindered in our worship to God.

I am encouraged much to hear that many of you pray for my ministry. Thank you very much for your prayer and financial support. May the Lord bless you all.

In January I started a cell group for studying the word of God that meets on Saturday and Sunday nights, there are 15-20 people routinely attending. Sunday services and prayer meetings are going well; I thank the Lord for adding more believers to our congregation in January. I went to Htaylin town and taught the word of God to members there for two days. They were encouraged and enthusiastic learners.
