December 2019

During the Christmas season, God blessed our outreach to non-believers. We distributed gospel tracts and held Christmas celebrations at four different locations in the Ma Oo Pyin township. Several new people joined us and intently listened to the reason that Jesus Christ came into the world and why it is such great joy to all people of the world. Among them were three young people who were deeply impressed and promised to join our church worship service. They did not yet profess faith in Christ but were interested in hearing the salvation history of Jesus Christ. Their names are Saw Htet, Ay Pai, and Min Tu.

  • Pray for these young people to understand their need for a Savior and to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord.

During my outreach ministry, I met Daw (Mrs.) Tan Tan’s family. The father has passed away, leaving behind his wife and nine children; the family is struggling. I visited them three times and told them about Jesus Christ. Tan Tan was interested in my words, and some of her children also listened.

  • Pray for this family to come to know Jesus Christ and His salvation.

We conduct home cell programs three times each week. My members are excited to participate in these Bible studies. Our children’s program was going well before Christmas with about sixty children; since then, we have had ten more children join us. Praise the Lord. Our Sunday worship services usually have newcomers each Sunday. We give thanks to God.

Praise God for the success of our Christmas season ministry and celebrations.

  • Pray for more open doors for ministry in the coming year and for more people to come to know God as their Lord and Savior.
  • Pray for our church needs, including a small generator, keyboard for worship service, provisions to fence the church campus, and a new motorbike for evangelism.

November 2019

The weather this month was better than the few months before it. There was less rain and no flooding at all.

I met and shared the gospel with two families.  U (Mr.) Bair and Daw (Mrs.) Htet, they have two daughters; one is married and lives in another town. The younger daughter is single and lives with her parents. This family heard the gospel a long time ago, but there was no one to tell them more about God. When I spoke with them, they were happy and willing to hear about Jesus. I spoke of creation and salvation, relating God’s plan for all people. They accepted my preaching and are close to believing in Jesus Christ. I will continue to visit them, and I pray that the Lord will bring them to have eternal life in Him.

The second family was U. (Mr.) Saw and Daw (Mrs.) Naw. The wife is a Christian, but her husband is not. They have two children, the elder is studying at the primary level, and the younger is in kindergarten. The family was interested in my sharing, and I hope they come to church soon.

  • Pray for these two families to come to know Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.
  • Pray for Naw to grow spiritually in her faith. Give thanks for the opportunity to meet these families.
  • Pray for the Lord to open more doors to reach new people.

We conduct home Bible studies three times a week in separate locations. Due to your prayers, our weekly services are going well. One Sunday morning and evening, we hold the children’s program. We meet in two places. This ministry has been very effective in reaching the non-Christian parents through the teaching of the children.

  • Pray for our children’s ministry to grow.
  • Pray for the parents to come to know God through the witness of their children.
  • Pray for a generator and battery system that is solar-powered.

July/August 2019

Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ. There were many times during this past rainy season when the water flooded our area, but the Lord protected us. Praise the Lord. Thank you for your prayers. Our weekly programs were able to meet regularly, the church worship service meets once a week, and the children have their Sunday school program twice a week. Praise our answer for our prayers.

During my outreach ministry, I met with two families and shared the gospel with them. One of them was U (Mr.) Win and his wife Daw (Mrs) Than. When we talked, I asked them if they had faith in Christ. Win said, “we believe in Christ because a pastor prayed that we would have a boy, and my wife gave birth to a son, so we believe in God. But for many years we have not gone to church.” So I told them about salvation in Jesus Christ. They were happy and decided to join our church.

I spoke with U (Mr.) Htay and Daw (Mrs) Tan. I shared the gospel with them two times, and they are open to hearing the good news, they said they like it. I pray that they will come to believe in Jesus soon.

  • Pray for Htay and Tan to come to understand their need for a Savior and proclaim their faith in God.

Praise the Lord than Win and Than joined the church.

  • Pray for their faith to grow.

Our Children’s Sunday school program is doing excellent, we meet on Sunday morning and evening. Most of the children are from a Buddhist background.

  • Pray for them to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
  • Pray for the children to come to faith in the one true God and understand their need for salvation only available through Jesus Christ.
  • Pray for the faith of the children to draw their parents to trust in God.
  • Pray for more doors to open for the gospel to be shared during my outreach ministry.
  • Pray for willing ears to hear and for hearts to come to know God.

June 2019

This month is the rainy season in our country. It rains almost every day, sometimes the rain is heavy, making it difficult to go outside. By God’s grace, despite the weather, our home Bible studies, and evangelism programs are still meeting regularly. We have home studies three times a week.

During my outreach, I went to Wataw village and met U (Mr.) Ong and his family. They have one son. I talked to them, and they allowed me to share about Jesus. They had heard the gospel from someone but did not clearly understand the salvation story. When I talked with them and explained more about salvation, they were eager to accept Jesus Christ. Praise the Lord!

  • Pray for Ong and his family to grow in their faith.
  • Pray for my outreach ministry and for more souls to be won for Christ this year.
  • Pray that the rainy weather will not hinder my outreach or our weekly services.
  • Pray for safe travels.

I shared about U (Mr.) Hlah and Daw (Mrs.) Naw and their families in my last reports. They have joined our worship service on Sundays and are growing in their knowledge of God. They declare their belief and trust in Jesus Christ, so I am continuing to teach them and hoping they take baptism soon. They work seven days a week, so we need to pray for the Lord to provide for all their needs.

  • Pray for Hlah and Naw to grow in their faith and for their preparations for baptism.
  • Pray for their strength and physical ability to work and provide for their daily needs.

I met a family who claimed Christianity but had not attended church for many years. The husband was a Buddhist, but when he met his wife, he loved her, so the husband took baptism without faith in Jesus Christ when he married her. I hope they come to understand salvation and be good believers soon.

  • Pray for this family to come to understand salvation and come to faith in Jesus Christ.

In Lingsuh village, I met an old man who was a retired police officer. His wife passed away, and he has three children. They are married and live in other towns. His name is U (Mr.) Thang, he was not a Christian. When I first met him, I discussed with him the concept of life after death. He was interested in hearing it, so I told him that there is only one way to have eternal life, which is in Jesus Christ. He did not agree with me at first but revisited him two more times, and he is still interested in the salvation story. We are praying that he may come to believe in Jesus Christ soon.

  • Pray for Thang to understand his need for salvation and come to faith in Jesus Christ.

Thank you for your prayers, our Sunday school classes are meeting regularly. Though the weather has been bad, we have still been conducting our programs. The children are learning and growing in their knowledge of Jesus Christ as they enjoy fellowship with each other.

May 2019

I visited the Chawng Kyi village and sought to reach new people with the good news. I prayed, and the Lord directed me to Daw (Mrs.) Ti’s family. There are three members in her family, and two of her daughters are married. I shared the gospel with them. They were happy to listen to my sharing. We pray that the Lord may draw them to church and for their entire family to come to faith.

  • Pray for Ti and her family to be drawn to faith in Jesus Christ.

It was an answer to our prayers that U (Mr.) Hlah and Daw (Mrs.) Nwe’s family came and joined our Sunday worship services. Praise the Lord. Continue to pray for them that they may really love God and experience the great salvation of Jesus Christ.

  • Pray for Hlah and Nwe’s families to come to an understanding of the gospel message and to declare their faith and trust in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

We conduct our home cell programs three times a week. Every time we meet, some new people from the neighborhood join us. Praise the Lord for these opportunities to share God’s love. Due to your prayers, our Children’s Sunday school has grown to include seventy-five children. We meet in two separate locations and teach the kids on Sunday mornings and evenings.

Pray for a keyboard for the worship service. Praise the Lord for the increasing number of children who are learning about God’s love for them.

  • Pray for these children to reach their families and friends with the gospel.

As the rainy season is coming, we urgently needed to repair my house and the worship service building. My members worked hard to improve them, and we have finished. We have the vision to build a concrete structure for our church when the Lord provides for this need.

  • Pray for our ability to one day construct a permanent building for the church.
  • Pray for the rainy season to not hinder my outreach ministry or the weekly services.
  • Pray for the rainy season to not cause destruction to any buildings or crops.

April 2019

The Lord has been opening the door for evangelism to the villages around us. Last month, I visited these areas with Health Care Fellowship of Myanmar (HCFM); this group is organized by Christians, and they offer medical treatment to children and adults. I shared the gospel in Takhukpin and Thanrung village. Last year, I reached the Takhukpin village and met Daw (Mrs.) Aamah and shared the gospel with her. She was interested in what I said. We had multiple conversations, and she attends our Sunday worship service twice a month. Aamah has six children and ten grandchildren. We are praying for her family to come to faith soon.

Give thanks for the success of my outreach ministry together with MCFM.

  • Pray for those who heard the gospel to come to faith.

While visiting Thanrung village with the medical workers, I shared the gospel with U (Mr.) Thet and his family. They wanted to hear more about Jesus. I promised to visit them once a month, not only to instruct their family but also the other people in the village. I believe that God opened a door for salvation in this village through the family of Thet. Praise the Lord!

  • Pray for the Thanrung village to come to faith.

Give thanks that this family that listened to the gospel and pray for our future conversations.

During the water festivals, I conducted a follow-up training program at the church. Most of my members came, and some visitors joined us. Our weekly programs are doing well, we hold home Bible studies three times a week. I am continuing the children’s ministry in three locations.

  • Pray for my upcoming visit to the hospital to share the gospel and give out tracts.
  • Pray for our music, we desire to use a keyboard during our worship services.

February/March 2019

Greetings! Due to your prayers, my ministry is going well. I talked with U (Mr.) Cung at the end of last year and he studied the gospel for several months.  He just received Christ as his Savior and Lord. His family is still non-believers, but they also became interested in hearing the gospel.

  • Pray for the family of Cung to also receive Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

I met several people during my outreach ministry and tried to talk with them. Many refused, and only two people allowed me to share the good news. Daw (Mrs.) Mya and U (Thuk) listened to the story of salvation, and they want to know more about Jesus.

  • Pray that Mya and Thuk and their families may believe in Jesus as their Savior soon.

The Lord has blessed our children’s ministry. We have twenty children from my church group and fifty-two children from two places in the outreach ministry. Praise the Lord! We have three home Bible studies each week which are useful in strengthening the faith of my members.

During the countries water festival, I shared the gospel with new people. Pray for those who heard the gospel.

  • Pray for our Bible training program.
  • Pray for my future visits to the hospital to share the gospel and hand out tracts.
  • Pray for fencing for our mission campus and for a keyboard for the worship service and children’s program.

January 2019

I traveled seven miles to the Tamalin Village. I met one family and shared the gospel with them. U (Mr.) Saw Soe and Daw (Mrs.) Aye Tin’s family. They have six children. Saw Soe is a carpenter and is struggling to feed his entire family in addition to the costs of school tuition. Four children are in school, and two are working in Ma Oo Pyin town. When I talked with them, everyone was interested in hearing the salvation story.

  • Pray for the entire family to accept Christ as their Lord and Savior.

I met Daw (Mrs.) Myet Win and shared with her about Jesus. She is a staunch Buddhist, and we spent several hours discussing salvation. She asked me to share about salvation history with her again whenever I have time as she desires to understand Christianity clearly.

  • Pray for the Holy Spirit to teach Myet Win and for her to come to know Jesus Christ.
  • Pray for more opportunities to share the gospel and teach Myet Win more about salvation and God’s Word.

Our home Bible studies and Sunday school programs are meeting regularly. The Children’s Ministry is meeting in three locations. It is good that we have some parents who are coming to listen to the teaching of their children.

  • Pray for more children to join us this next year.
  • Pray for the parents who hear the gospel to come to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
  • Pray for the repairs needed on my house, it is a dangerous situation so pray for safety.
  • Pray for the outreach ministry to grow, for more people to be reached with the good news and that they may come to faith in God.

Thank you for your continued prayer and support. Your partnership makes my ministry more effective. May God bless you all.

December 2018

New Year greetings to our prayer partners! Your prayers change the people and their lives in my field. God answered our prayers and blessed the ministry this past Christmas season. We had four celebrations in separate locations.

At U (Mr). Saw Elsi’s house, not far from my place, we had one-hundred, and fifty people join us to listen to the Christmas message. Most of them were new people who did not know the name of Jesus. It was encouraging that many of them knew about the salvation story of Jesus Christ and his purpose for incarnation as a man. I pray that the Holy Spirit will continue to work in their hearts and bring them to salvation in Jesus Christ.

  • Pray for the knowledge about Jesus Christ to become more than pure facts but to become a relationship with God and an understanding of the grace of the gospel.

We held the same Christmas program at U (Mr.) Cung Klua Khai’s house and had about a hundred people join us, the majority were not Christians. Even the wife and children of our host are spirit worshippers, but they were gracious to allow us to conduct the service in their home.  I pray that the whole family will change and believe in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. The rest of the attendants were also happy to hear the message and enjoyed listening to the good news of salvation. Pray that the seed planted in their hearts may grow soon and bear fruits.

  • Pray for the salvation of U Cung Klua Khai’s family and for them to come to a complete understanding of the gospel and believe in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
  • Pray for the attendees to be saved and have a personal relationship with God.

On Christmas day, we celebrated at my place with the church members, parents of the Sunday school students and our neighbors. We had two-hundred people attend. Praise the Lord.

  • Pray for the church members, parents, children and neighbors to be encouraged and strengthened by the message.

In the Takhuat Pyin Suh village, one of my outreach locations, Daw (Mrs) Ema’s family hosted our gathering. We had close to one-hundred-and-twenty people join us; almost the entire village was there. They were all non-Christians, there are no Christians in the town. We distributed several tracts to the people and are praying that the entire village will come to know God.

  • Pray for the village of Takhuat Pyin Suh and the salvation of its inhabitants.

Our weekly programs are continuing regularly. God has blessed our Sunday school program, and we are continuing to teach in three locations in Ma Oo Pyin City.

  • Pray for the repair needs of our house; we are grateful that no one was injured.
  • Pray for more people to come to know Jesus and accept Him as their Savior and Lord in this coming year. Thank you for your perseverance in prayer and support for our ministry

September/October/ November 2018

I met an old woman who is eighty-two years old. Her name is Daw Khin Kyi, and I shared the gospel with her. When I first met her, she refused to listen to me talk about Jesus and salvation. She is a strong Buddhist. I tried my best to continue sharing with her and have visited her three times. She is now interested in listening and starting to understand the salvation of Jesus Christ. I am praying that she believes in Christ and understands salvation before she dies.

  • Pray for Daw Khin Kyi to come to a complete understanding of the gospel and accept Jesus Christ into her heart.

U Ko Nge Thar and his family all profess faith in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, including their four children. They are preparing for baptism through my teaching about salvation. U Ko Nge Thar’s wife shared her experience and testimony. “My husband became a believer first, but I was still a Buddhist. Several times he asked me to go to church with him, but I always refused. Pastor Rem came and shared about the gospel and eternal life; he prayed for our family’s needs. One day I was touched by his sharing and carefully thought about what he said. I realized I wanted to believe in Jesus Christ as my Savior; then I felt happy and peace in my heart. Jesus answers our prayers. Praise the Lord!”

Give thanks for the salvation for U Ko Nge Thar and his family, pray for them as they prepare to be baptized and their witness to their community.

Due to your prayers, we have seen the Holy Spirit at work bringing new people to join our Sunday worship service and prayer meeting. We have a children’s Sunday school in three locations. Our church has a children’s program on Sunday mornings. On Saturday and Sunday evening, we have our children’s programs at other sites, where the children who attend come from non-believing families. Through our teaching of the children, we gain opportunities to reach their parents with the gospel message.

  • Pray for many more children to join our Sunday school programs.
  • Pray for the children to clearly understand the salvation story and grow in their knowledge of God.
  • Pray for parents to be willing to allow their children to attend the Sunday school programs and to be willing to listen to the gospel message from their children and Pastor Rem.
  • Pray for Pastor Rem’s outreach to the surrounding villages, for safety as he travels and for the opportunity to reach new people with the gospel.
  • Pray for the weekly programs to grow in attendance and for many more people to come to know Jesus Christ.
  • Pray for Pastor Rem’s house repairs that need to be completed after the rainy season.

August 2018

Mr. Hlah Zing’s family has joined our church, they have four family members. My church member, Mrs. Nuai Ri met the family and invited me to visit them at their home. I went to their home and shared the gospel. She brought them to the church and the whole family joined us. They did not request anything, but we see their needs and are praying for them. They are struggling to meet their family’s daily needs. They believe in Jesus Christ and need to know more background about salvation. I will take the time to teach them. Their eldest attends middle school and the youngest is in preschool.

  • Pray for the entire family to come to a complete understanding of the gospel.
  • Pray for the provision of their daily needs.

I visited the Swetachaung village, near our village, during the rainy season. When I went there, the whole village was flooded, and they were in trouble. I met one Christian couple, Mr. Ting Aung and his wife Sandar. They hosted me and invited people to their house to hear the gospel and receive prayer. The people were happy to hear the gospel and told me of their need for help with the flooding. I was not able to help with their present need, but I encouraged them to bring their burdens to Jesus through prayer.

  • Pray for their physical and spiritual needs to be met and for God to bring the people to salvation and trust in Himself.
  • Pray for the new contacts in this village and for future opportunities to reach the people here with the gospel.

Our weekly programs are doing well despite the rain. Our adult program is helping new members grow in their faith. Our Sunday school program is regularly meeting at three locations. Many children are growing in their knowledge of God and their understanding of the salvation story of Jesus Christ. We are praying for the children to have opportunities to share the gospel with their parents.

  • Pray for the weekly programs to continue and to add new people.
  • Pray for the children to have courage and boldness to share with the parents and to be good witnesses of their faith through their behavior.
  • Pray for the teachers to have wisdom and discernment as they teach the children to grow in their faith and share with their families.
  • Pray for the church to have opportunities to share the gospel with the parents through the children and the Sunday school program.
  • Pray for new people to be reached each month with the gospel.
  • Pray for the repair needs of Pastor Van Lal Rem’s house to be met.

July 2018

The church members are faithful to attend the weekly programs even during the rainy season. I am continuing to evangelize and meet people in their homes or workplaces. People do not refuse to listen but say “it is good”, we need to pray that the Holy Spirit reaches them and brings them to Christ. We are continuing our children’s classes as well.

  • Pray for a curiosity about Jesus Christ from those who listen when I evangelize and for our ministry to continue during the rainy season.
  • Pray for the children, many are from Buddhist families, to hear the gospel and respond.

One Indian woman, Daw Moe Sander, arrives early to the church and prepares food for the worshippers. I first met her during my evangelism ministry and she is very close to accepting Jesus as her Lord and Savior. There are six members in her family with four children. Her husband is retired from the military. Her eldest son is a cement worker and the other children are in school.

  • Pray for Daw Moe Sander’s clear understanding of the gospel and that her whole family will believe in Jesus Christ and be saved.

The rain was heavy last month, and the water has flooded our area, but the Lord saved us, and no one’s life was lost, only some possessions were destroyed. I encouraged the members and prayed with them.

  • Pray for protection from the sicknesses that can occur with flooding.
  • Pray for the repairs to my house.
  • Pray for safety from flooding through the rest of the rainy season.

Spring 2018

(1) Ko Ko Pheo was converted to Christ in November 2017 through my ministry but his parents and relatives forbid him to get baptized, they said, “If you are baptized and become a Christian, you will be kicked out from our family.” Ko Ko continued to pray for God’s timing. In the meantime, I invite him to follow me in sharing the gospel every Wednesday. I brought him everywhere I went for evangelism, and I asked him to share the gospel with people who didn’t know Christ, for two months we went out to the street talking about the Jesus Christ. He decided to get baptized on January 14, 2018. We submitted his future life to God that his parents also may understand him. He is willing to serve God and study the Bible. He would like to go to Bible School for his future ministry; his problem is that he has the family, and no one is there to take care of them and provide for their daily needs.

U Ting Mint and Daw Sit, are an old couple and have several adult children who live in a nearby village. They recently sat down with me and shared their testimony’s. When the couple started believing in Jesus Christ their children stop taking care of them putting them in a hard financial place. U Ting and Daw Sit began to collect plastic trash, clean it, and sell it to plastic companies to recycle. They do this on a daily basis to earn some money for food. Both are now in their 70’s, and recently U Ting was sick for three weeks, his wife is older than him, and it’s harder for her to work. They are in a difficult situation, and I tried my best to help them but was constrained by my budget. Join me in praying for them. I thank God that U Ting is getting much better and both of them were able to attend our most recent Sunday service.

Another widow in our church Daw Nuit Ree has three children who provide her with food on a daily basis. One of her sons-in-law is a Forest Officer and works for the Ministry of Environmental Conservation. They are non-Christians, but we asked if we could have our Christmas celebrations at their house. They agreed and allowed us to come and celebrate with them. I try to visit them during my outreach evangelism and visit their neighbors as well. Pray they will come to know Jesus Christ as the true and living God.

One of the couples I met while ministering around town was U Htun Nai and Daw Aye Khain. They were both interested in hearing about Jesus Christ. They began attending church in March, and they are both non-believers. But they continue to come and learn about Jesus and His salvation story. They have a son who is cared for by his grandparents, they are impoverished and try to survive by working. U Htun Nai takes care of cows, and his wife picks up plastic trash and cleans it by hand to sell to the plastic companies (Cheap recycling). Join us in praying for the spiritual and physical needs of this family.

We continue to minister to families during our weekly programs. We met U Tun Hlah and Daw Win Maw during our evangelism time, they are from a Burmese and Karen tribe and have two sons. They are both interested in the Salvation story, and we continue to pray that the Holy Spirit would give them understanding. We pray that they would come to know and accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

Pray for U Thein and Daw Sein’s family. They continue to attend church every week despite their difficult situation. They struggle to make enough money to support themselves and cannot even afford to buy bread. They pick up plastic rubbish and sell it to companies for money. Pray that as they come to church every week, they will accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

We have a total of 120 children in our Sunday school programs. We have extended our ministry to three locations. The children come from non-Christian families, and sometimes their parents visit and listen to our teachings. Praise the Lord! Continue to pray for our children’s programs because it is the key to reaching their parents.

(3) During the Water Festival holiday, I taught the Bible for three days in my home. I had around 15-20 people join us, all the adults that attended were encouraged and felt strengthened.

The Lord has answered several of our prayers one of which was more opportunities for children to come and hear about Jesus. We went out shared on Saturday and Sunday, and the Lord sent between 80 and 90 children. These children came from a Buddhist background and my wife and I were very busy ministering to them. The Lord is opening doors for the introduction of the gospel through the ministry of these children. I was able to meet with their parents and share the gospel with them. We also on a regular basis did home visits in two different areas.

Pray for healing for U Thein Myint

Please let me share with you about U Thein Myint, he and his wife are my regular attendants at church. They are in their 70s and all their children live in other cities. No one takes care of them in their old age so they pick up plastic and clean it off to sell back to the plastic companies, this is how they survive. A few weeks ago U Thein Myint was suffering from severe back pain, so he could not work. They were in a difficult situation to eat each day. My family and church members are helping them the best we can. Please pray for the recovery of U Thein Myint and their daily needs.

(4) In May, I met a young, 15-year-old high school student named Saw Thar Ngut. We talked, and I had the opportunity to share the gospel with him. His parents go to church occasionally, but he was ambivalent about religion. He told me it was because his parents never attend church or the Buddhist temple. When he heard about the love of God and the salvation story of Jesus Christ he was fascinated. He joined our worship service on Sunday. I asked him if he would like to believe in Jesus and he said yes. I will continue teaching him so that he may understand and accept Jesus Christ as his own Savior and Lord. Saw Thar comes from a low-income family. His father is a taxi/porter driver of a Tri-show (three-wheeled bicycle). Please pray that through this young man his parents will have a revival in their hearts and understand the true Gospel.

I go and evangelize four times a week in neighboring villages and host home Bible studies on the other three days. Our Sunday school program has grown to 80 -100 student. Miss Mae Mae, a believer in our church, donated two pairs of uniforms to every child. These clothes are expensive, and her gift was joyfully received.

Summer 2018

(5) Saw Ngu has finally become a believer in Jesus Christ. He’s been in our prayers for several months, and I have mentioned him in previous reports. When he professed faith in Jesus, we went through his process of belief to be sure he understood the Gospel. We baptized him last week. His mother, father, brothers, and sisters all attend church and have also been baptized. Pray that the rest of his family will follow in faith.

Last month it rained almost every day, so I was limited in my ability to go out and evangelize because the waterways were treacherous. Every day after school I taught a children’s vacation bible school outreach. It was effective, and I was able to reach several parents with the gospel too. These families come from Indian tribes that have immigrated to our town.

Winter 2017

Members of the church gathering for Sunday Service.

Let me share about the daily life of a few of my members. U Ting Mint and Daw Sit, are an old couple and have several adult children who live in a nearby village.

Another family U Hla Oo and Daw Miah Khai are believers who have three children and recently could not afford to send their children to school anymore. Their job also consists in picking up plastic rubbish and reselling it. U Hla’s health is not good, and he is always getting sick and can’t work every day. They are in a dire situation for their daily survival. Their hearts are for the Lord, and they want to host our Christmas celebrations. Unfortunately, it is impossible for them to do this. They are faithful in trusting God. Please pray for them.

Prayer Request:

  • Give thanks to God for our regular weekly services and good health of my members.
  • Pray for two families who are in distressing situations for their daily living.
  • Pray for my members’ spiritual maturity so that they may know how to endure through adversity.

October 2017

“Daniel answered and said: ‘Blessed be the name of God forever and ever, to whom belong wisdom and might. He changes times and seasons; he removes kings and sets up kings; and knowledge to those who have understanding.” Daniel 2:20-21 (ESV).

God is in control of all moveable and unmovable things. I praise God for providing me a new baby boy; he was born on October 27, 2017, by Caesarean Section at Ma Oo Pyin General Civil Hospital. Praise the Lord with me that my wife and baby are recovering well.

We have new members in our church who have become active sharing their faith. U Hlah and his family have taken responsibility for ministering in several areas which has considerably helped me over the last month.

I request that you pray earnestly for our evangelism programs during the Christmas season. I plan to give a three-day gospel training in December. December has proven to be the best time to evangelize and reach people with the gospel.

Prayer Request:

  • Give thanks to God for my new-born baby and pray that both the baby and his mom may grow in good health.
  • Give thanks to God for our weekly activities and outreach programs.
  • Pray for our Christmas celebrations. I have a plan to teach a salvation program for three days.
  • Pray also that I may boldly preach and teach the gospel to new people around us in November.
  • Continue to pray for the completion of repairs to my house and church.

September 2017

In September, the Lord added the family of U Hlah Chi’s to my church; they moved from another village to our place. There are five members in their family, three of their children joined our children’s Bible class program on Sundays.

Thanks to your prayers U Ko Hngetah’s family is growing in the knowledge of God and attending our weekly services. I am teaching home Bible studies at their house once a week. I also met a man named U Tuaisung, He was drunk almost every day, but has improved and made an effort to stop drinking, he attends our Sunday service weekly. I hope that he will receive Jesus Christ as his own Savior and Lord with all his family members soon.

We extended our children’s classes to a morning and evening session on Sundays. Pray that these two times are more beneficial to the children.

Prayer Request:

  • Please give thanks to God for U Hlah Chi’s family members who joined our church. Pray that their family members will grow in trusting God.
  • Give thanks to God also for U Tuaisung’s and pray for his salvation.
  • As many people do not know Jesus Christ, please continue to pray for the quick spreading of the gospel to my City, Ma Oo Pyin.
  • Please continue to pray for re-construction of our worship house. The building is old and dangerous with holes in the floor and deteriorating walls.

Thank you very much for your prayer and financial support.

August 2017

In August I shared the gospel with several people many of whom asked for time to think about the things I shared, I was encouraged though because the family of U Ko Ngetah’s responded positively. When I met them at their home, I shared the love of God and His plan for salvation, and they said they were touched and desired to believe in Jesus. The family promised to join our worship service on August 20, and they did, I also invited them to join our home cell group as well. Join me in praying that as the Ngetah family are drawn into a relationship with Jesus, they will become fervent disciples of his.

In our children’s ministry, we are seeing the desired results of having the students participate in our Sunday worship service. We also extended our weekly home cell program to four days a week this seems to draw new people to join the group.

Thanks to your prayers, the church is increasing in attendance at the Sunday worship services. We continue to have new visitors which is exciting and encouraging for us. I also joined a fellowship of Christians in the city of Ma Oo Pyin. We meet once a week for prayer; this program is designed to be an encouragement every pastor and church in Ma Oo Pyin City.

Prayer Request:

  • Please give thanks to God for U Ko Ngetah’s family members who have made a profession of faith in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
  • Give thanks to God also for our weekly programs and the good health of the church members.
  • Please continue to pray for the church and me to be strong in faith under much opposition. Pray also for reaching new people around us.
  • Pray for the rebuilding of our worship house.

Thank you for your prayer and financial support which is very effective for my family and my church planting work.

July 2017

Greetings to all my prayer partners in the name of Jesus Christ. Thanks to your prayers my ministry in July went well, we had heavy rains and the roads were full of mud, but our weekly home cells, prayer meetings, and worship services met regularly. If you remember in March through the donations you sent us we built a concrete bridge leading to our church, it has proven to be a good investment, along with the new latrine, and water well. Thank you so much!

In July I met with two new families again, it was my third time to visit them in their homes. The first was Ko Ko and his family, Ko Ko accepted Jesus Christ as his own Savior and Lord and this brought great encouragement to me. He desires to get baptized but I told him that,“ In order to take baptism, you need to take time and studying God’s word more”.

I did this because I wanted him to grasp the full significance of what Baptism means and allow his faith to be confirmed. Let’s pray for him and his family members so that they all may believe in Jesus Christ. The second family i met with was U Ti Sung and family. I met them at their home and shared the gospel with them, they were interested in hearing the message but have not decided to become believers yet. Join me in praying for them.

Prayer Request:

  • Give thanks to God for the conversion of U Ko Ko and pray for his households salvation as well.
  • Pray also for my outreach ministry so that the Lord may open more hearts around us to the Gospel, that the Lord may touch them and bring them to knowledge of Himself.
  • Please pray for the repairing of my house, the recent rains rotted the wooden floor and have become dangerous. Pray we may replace them soon.

I give my special thanks to you for your prayers and financial support which is a blessing for my family and church planting endevours. May God bless you all.

Yours in Christ’s service, Van Lal Rem

June 2017

By the grace of God, my ministry in June went doing well. Home cells, prayer meetings, children programs, and worship services are proving steadfast and faithful. Our home cell programs continue to strengthen our members.

U Tan and his wife Daw Khan accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord but have not been baptized, pray that they will be ready to get baptized soon. Both of them regularly attend church. When I first met U Tan and shared the gospel with him he was interested in learning about Jesus Christ, I visited him and discussed Jesus with him several times. Recently he confessed that he believed Jesus Christ as his Savior and Lord. Praise the Lord.

I also would like to give my special thanks to you all for your provision for our the bridge to our house as well as the new toilet and water supply. These are wonderful and convenient for my family and church members. The water supply is useful to my church members and neighbors. Thank you very much. All glory be to God.

Prayer Request:

  • Give thanks to God for the U Tan who was saved. Pray that he may stand firm in the faith.
  • Give thanks to God for our weekly programs and water supply, toilet, and bridge that God provided through White Fields ministry.
  • Please pray for the remodel of part of my house and worship room.
  • Pray that I may have new opportunities to meet new people in my outreach ministry.

Please accept my unending thanks to you all for your prayer and financial support which is very effective for my family and my church planting work. Thank you so much. May God bless you all.

May 2017

I pray that all my prayer partners and supporter are in good health and strength. Thanks to your prayers my ministry in May went well. We completed constructed a water supply pump, a toilet, and a well for the church and our neighbors to fetch water from. Our hope is that the well will be very helpful for us, and the surrounding people, we hope the water will lead them to living water. Praise the Lord.

In my outreach, I met U Nai and Daw Khan and shared the love of God and the salvation of Jesus Christ. Both of them liked the things I shared, but they have not accepted Jesus as their Savior yet, I pray and hope that they will come to believe in Him shortly. Going out for evangelism is not a difficult task for me. Being rejected for sharing the Gospel is hard, and I need your prayers that the Lord may bring new people to reach those who are hungry for the gospel of Christ.

Prayer Request:

  • Give thanks to God for the great help of White Fields for sending us resources to build the bridge, toilet, water supply pump and water well which have increased the quality of our lives and those of our neighbors as well.
  • Give thanks to God also for my two persons U Nai and Daw Khan who are learning about Christ. Pray that they may become followers of Jesus Christ and be saved.
  • Continue to pray for re-construct of my residence and church house so that we may be able to meet there again.
  • Please pray for all church planters and missionaries in our country.

Thank you for your prayer and financial support which is essential for my family and church planting work. Thank you very much. May God bless you all.

March 2017

God is good and faithful to His children all the time. I would like to praise and thank God for answering all the prayers for my ministry. During the month of March, I went to Chin State and attended the 18th Annual Assembly and Spiritual Convention from March 1-5, 2017. I shared the word of God in a morning devotion as well as my testimony at the special service for the missions program. I was able to visit my native village and see my parents; I thank God that they are doing well. I returned home on March 12, 2017.

During my outreach ministry I met a woman named Daw Moe Swe and shared the gospel with her, it was the second time that I shared with her. Her heart was opened to receive Christ as her Savior and Lord. Since we met, she has joined our church and is interested in teaching the children. Praise the Lord. I also met U Win a spirit worshipper and his family. I shared with them about the way of salvation through Jesus Christ; they expressed interested in what I had to say. I have met with them twice and will meet them again. Please pray for me.

I praise the Lord that Daw Khine is willing to get baptized, many times she refused but she will now get baptized next month. Praise the Lord.

Prayer Request:

  • Give thanks to God for Daw Moe Swe and Daw Khine for their faith in Christ. Pray that they will grow in the knowledge of God and know more about the love of God.
  • Give thanks to God for our weekly programs that are doing well.
  • Please pray for the building of a latrine and water supply for my house which is also where our place of worship is. I was informed that White Fields would help with these two items. Praise the Lord.
  • Please pray for us during the water festival holiday program where we will have a gospel rally for adults and children.

Thank you for your prayer and financial support which is indispensable to my family and church planting work. Thank you very much. May the Lord bless you all.

January 2017

By God’s grace and everlasting mercy, we reached the New Year of 2017 with the Lord’s blessings. We have prayed steadfastly for the last year to be able to build a new bridge to our church and this last December the Lord answered our prayer. The new bridge completed in January has brought great joy, and we are full of excitement. Praise the Lord! We are grateful to our prayer partners for their support through White Fields; it reminds us we are loved and have brothers and sisters in Christ who are with us around the world!

In January, I met some new couples who moved to our community and shared the gospel with them; their family names are U Hlah and Daw Tin Aye in Takhuatpin village. I am happy that both families had interested in hearing the gospel of Jesus Christ. U Hlah and his wife have been connecting with the members of our church; we pray that they will come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ soon.

I host small groups at two different places every week, we have prayer time, shared our needs, and pray together. I also participate in the fellowship of all Christians in Ma Oo Pyin.

Prayer Request:

  • Please give thanks to God for our new bridge which we prayed for many years to receive.
  • Give thanks to God also for our weekly programs, such as small groups, prayer meetings, children Sunday school, and Sunday worship services.
  • Pray that we could receive resources to refurbish our church building, build a fence, and dig a well.
  • Pray for more people to become believers in Jesus as we start our this new year.

Thank you for your prayer and financial support which I receive regularly. It is very practical and helpful for my family and my church planting work. May God bless you all.

September 2016

New Believers in MyanmarDuring the month of September, I was introduced to some new members of our community here in the Delta area, namely Lun Lun and her neighbor Miah. Both had expressed interest in following Jesus and after hearing the Gospel decided they were ready to become believers in Him. Miah had asked if I would come and share the Gospel with her family, I agreed and the next day visited her household. Her family had never heard the story of salvation, through the scriptures I began to show them what Jesus had written and how there was a way for them to be redeemed of their sin. They were very interested and had many questions about the Gospel, as I was leaving they expressed how glad they were that I came and shared with them the salvation story.

One of the areas of focus in our church has been our small groups, and they have proven to be a crucial way for us to reach new people in our community. Our small group currently meets three times a week, and our Sunday services have been attended actively as well. We ask that you would pray that many people will open their hearts to the Gospel and be yearning to hear and understand the Truth.

In our church there are many opportunities to learn about the Lord, we have our Saturday morning prayer meeting as well as bible study groups on Thursdays. To prepare myself for these times I have begun fasting one day a week.

In September we had heavy rains throughout our area, but our church members were brave, and we continued to worship the Lord each Sunday in spite of the bad weather. Praise the Lord! Pray for the safety and security of the church members during the storms.

Here are some of our prayer request for the coming month:

  • Give thanks to the Lord for our outreach ministry and weekly church services.
  • Praise the Lord for Miah, Lun Lun, and Sanda becoming believers in Him, pray they continue to attend church regularly so that they are built up in their faith and given a foundation that can withstand the trials of the enemy.
  • Pray for the winning of more souls into the Kingdom.
  • Pray that we can reach new people in our community.
  • Pray that resources can be brought in for us to build a new church building as well as a bridge in front of my house.

Your prayers cause a change to be felt in my ministry, thank you for your prayers and financial support.

July 2016

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I would like to praise and thank God for His care and protection. Due to your prayer help, my ministry has been doing well these past two months.

I had met U Ko Oo and family members in my outreach ministry, and shared the love of God with them. It was the first time that they heard the gospel of Christ. I visited them two times, teaching about salvation, that it is a free gift of God for everyone. They were happy and open to me sharing with them. It is very encouraging for us that the Lord has opened more doors for my outreach ministry. Praise the Lord!

  • Please pray for U Ko Oo’s family members, that they may truly accept Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord.

I also would like to share with you that Daw Nuai Yi and her children have been attending our Sunday worship services regularly. Though they have not yet been baptized, they continue in their belief in God.

  • Please pray that they would take the next step and be baptized.

My weekly programs have been doing well. I have been conducting home-cell programs regularly. We conduct home cell programs three times a week; it has been very effective for my members in reaching new people. We pray to extend the programs to new houses. I spend one day a week for fasting and prayer. The children’s Sunday school program is also doing well. Some new children had joined in April. Praise God for His answering to our prayers! We give thanks to God for our weekly programs and outreach ministry!

  • Please pray for the progress of my church activities, such as the outreach ministry, home cell programs, and children’s Sunday school programs.
  • Please also pray for me, especially to reach many more new people and to boldly share the gospel to everyone.
  • Please pray that the Lord will open more hearts and that people would be interested in hearing about the gospel.

Praise God for His answering to our prayers, I baptized three people in May! They were U Aung Nian, Daw Huai, and Daw Lun Lun. I have been doing a follow-up Bible study program for new converts.

  • Please pray that they may stand firm in their faith and grow.

We praise and thank God that our country is much more open to the gospel of Jesus Christ. We have two Vice Presidents in our country; one of them is Christian. We have five Christian Chief Ministers in States and Divisions, including our Arrawady division. There are also several Christian parliament members too. Praise the Lord!

  • Please do continue to pray for the extension of the Kingdom of God in our country.

I am thankful and grateful for your prayers and support. Your prayers are effective for my ministry and our country. May God bless all of you!

Your co-worker in the Lord’s field,

June 2016

Last month I baptized 4 young people. I also baptized one older woman Daw (Mrs.) Sein she is 78 years old. She has been attending my church since last year.

I have mentioned in my previous report, U (Mr.) Aye Se’s family members attend Sunday service regularly. Praise the Lord. We need your prayer help for their family.

I also met Daw Nuai, a woman in my out-reach ministry, and shared the gospel two times. She has an interest in my sharing. She attended church three times last month. Please pray that she may truly believe in Jesus Christ.

Prayer changes our lives.  As you pray hard for my ministry, I also pray with fasting prayer twice a week for you—on Wednesday and Saturdays. Prayer is very important to my ministry. Without prayer—nothing changes. With prayer—things are changing. My children’s ministry is also doing well. We have about 20 to 30 children in attendance every Sunday. Praise the Lord!

I go out for evangelism regularly. Last month I met some new people and shared the gospel. Daw Yi was making progress in knowing God. Now she has believed in Christ. I hope that she will soon agree to be baptized—not only herself, but also her children. I pray that they all may come to know God receive Jesus Christ.

I plan to conduct a gospel rally during water festival holidays for two days. Please pray that it would be a very successful one.

  • Give thanks to God for granting U Maung true repentance
  • Pray for his family, that they will all believe in Christ Jesus and be saved
  • Pray for the outreach evangelism activities, that more souls will be won
  • Pray for the Lord’s provisions for this

Thank you very much for your prayers and financial support. I pray that God will bless you richly.

Great is the LORD, and highly to be praised, And His greatness is unsearchable. One generation shall praise Your works to another, And shall declare Your mighty acts. (Psalm 145:3-4) I tell you that in the same way, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance. (Luke 15:7) In August, one man repented and came back to Christ. His name is U Maung. He was away from the Lord for many years and has been found. He now attends our worship services regularly. Praise the Lord!

  • Give thanks to God for granting U Maung true repentance
  • Pray for his family, that they will all believe in Christ Jesus and be saved
  • Pray for the outreach evangelism activities, that more souls will be won

God answers our prayers in that our weekly activities are doing well. We conduct home cell groups three times a week and we have fasting prayer two times. Because of your prayers, our children’s Sunday school program is progressing. We now have 20-30 students every Sunday morning. Please pray for a good teacher because ours went back home for the holiday. She was very good at teaching them. Our Sunday worship service is going well and is held regularly. Praise the Lord!

We provide lunch for the people every Sunday because it is necessary for them to eat.

  • Pray for the Lord’s provisions for this

Thank you very much for your prayers and financial support. I pray that God will bless you richly.

  • Pray for the upcoming Christmas season; I’d like to hold a gospel rally
