Pastor Andrew Rem

Recent Ministry

This month is the rainy season in our country. It rains almost every day, sometimes the rain is heavy, making it difficult to go outside. By God’s grace, despite the weather, our home Bible studies, and evangelism programs are still meeting regularly. We have home studies three times a week.

During my outreach, I went to Wataw village and met U (Mr.) Ong and his family. They have one son. I talked to them, and they allowed me to share about Jesus. They had heard the gospel from someone but did not clearly understand the salvation story. When I talked with them and explained more about salvation, they were eager to accept Jesus Christ. Praise the Lord!

  • Pray for Ong and his family to grow in their faith.
  • Pray for my outreach ministry and for more souls to be won for Christ this year.
  • Pray that the rainy weather will not hinder my outreach or our weekly services.
  • Pray for safe travels.

I shared about U (Mr.) Hlah and Daw (Mrs.) Naw and their families in my last reports. They have joined our worship service on Sundays and are growing in their knowledge of God. They declare their belief and trust in Jesus Christ, so I am continuing to teach them and hoping they take baptism soon. They work seven days a week, so we need to pray for the Lord to provide for all their needs.

  • Pray for Hlah and Naw to grow in their faith and for their preparations for baptism.
  • Pray for their strength and physical ability to work and provide for their daily needs.

I met a family who claimed Christianity but had not attended church for many years. The husband was a Buddhist, but when he met his wife, he loved her, so the husband took baptism without faith in Jesus Christ when he married her. I hope they come to understand salvation and be good believers soon.

  • Pray for this family to come to understand salvation and come to faith in Jesus Christ.

In Lingsuh village, I met an old man who was a retired police officer. His wife passed away, and he has three children. They are married and live in other towns. His name is U (Mr.) Thang, he was not a Christian. When I first met him, I discussed with him the concept of life after death. He was interested in hearing it, so I told him that there is only one way to have eternal life, which is in Jesus Christ. He did not agree with me at first but revisited him two more times, and he is still interested in the salvation story. We are praying that he may come to believe in Jesus Christ soon.

  • Pray for Thang to understand his need for salvation and come to faith in Jesus Christ.

Thank you for your prayers, our Sunday school classes are meeting regularly. Though the weather has been bad, we have still been conducting our programs. The children are learning and growing in their knowledge of Jesus Christ as they enjoy fellowship with each other.

Pastor Andrew’s Story

Andrew Van Lal Rem serves as a church planter in the Ayeyarwady Delta of Myanmar. This landscape dominated by rivers, streams, and islands is densely populated and mostly agricultural. Pastor Andrew’s ministry can at times be difficult and dangerous due to seasonal monsoons and hostile monks/Buddhists.

His wife and young children have faithfully served alongside him since he started with White Fields in 2016. A faithful evangelist Andrew goes out weekly to share the Gospel, pray for people in the hospital, and disciple members of his congregation. Being a young Pastor, he partners with several White Fields Alumni hosting outreaches in nearby towns and villages. With a heart for his people in addition to sharing the Gospel, he has helped provide clean water and a latrine for his community.
