Update About Zimbabwe
While we
were at Pastor Bob Chimboo's church we had the opportunity
to meet some of the orphans that his church cares for. The
parents of these children died from illness and the church
is committed to caring for the children. There are many orphans
in all the African countries. We were encouraged by the attitude
of Elect Baptist Church in that they
minister to the needs of the children left orphaned in their
congregation. This first
picture shows the group of children in the church that are
orphans.

We also
met three children, Fungai, Svodai, and Munyaradzi whose
parents died several years ago. There were six children in
the family
but two
passed
away from illness and the oldest sister has been accepted
to a special
school.
These three are still living at their own house. The
church
has
cared
for
them
since the
death
of their
parents and
Pastor Bob makes sure that they have food.

This
is their one living room. It doubles as their kitchen and
bedroom. They have mats in the corner that they put out for
beds in the evening and stack up during the daytime. Fungai
was showing us their cooking utensils.

We were
impressed with their garden, a demonstration of the resourcefulness
of Pastor Bob who along with his wife is actively training
the young orphans in the Word of God but also in the practical
skills to survive in Zimbabwe. His wife has taught many skills
to the girls like cooking and sewing.

Here is
Pastor Bob's truck, not much use without petroleum. This
is also a mechanic from his church who is teaching several
young orphans the skills to become mechanics.
