Hello and Greetings from Africa!
With rumbling percussion, hands clapping and many singing voices,
we were graciously welcomed into all seven of the churches
we were able to visit today on our first Sunday in Ghana.

(Steve Wheeler,
Pastor Patrick Dzobo, Terry Rae, Pastor Wisdom, Pastor Shadrack)
We
were accompanied by the Africa Field Director Terry Rae,
his assistant, Pastor Shadrack, and the local overseer
of Ghana church-planting,
Pastor Wisdom. We traveled around the southern
Volta region, briefly stopping in each church to preach
the
word
of God and offer our encouragement and prayer.
Pastor
Wisdom began his church planting in Ghana
by finding as many Christians as he could
find
in the region of Volta…a
mere 12. Since then however, God has
blessed the work and over 60 congregations
now exist in a
fellowship
that
is overseen
by Pastor Wisdom. Currently Whitefields
is supporting five new churches,
one of them being the Calvary Hill Baptist
Church led by Pastor
Patrick Dzobo.
Pastor
Dzobo is a former politician who was
imprisoned following a coup in
Ghana. While
imprisoned he
found himself stripped
of all pride and material things
and was able to finally meet
with
Christ. Following that, Pastor
Dzobo became a loyal servant
of the Lord, spreading the word
in Libya
for seventeen
years until
he was again arrested and tortured,
as it
was illegal to preach Christianity in
the Muslim nation of
Libya. Now
in Ghana, Pastor
Dzobo continues to do God’s
work!
To
pray for Patrick Dzobo and our
other pastors in Ghana go to

Ghana
Prayer Facts page.
