“I received Christ on March 13, 2007. I remember when one of my friends came to my house with a group of Americans and a translator. They told me I was a sinner and that my sin separated me from God and that I was going to hell. On that day, I understood God’s love for us when He sent His Son, Jesus, to rescue us from our condemnation. And, on that same day, I received Him as my Lord and Savior. From that day on, God has helped me to see life—it’s problems and trials—in a different way. In the beginning, I wouldn’t go to church, but my pastor kept visiting me. I was having troubles constantly, but I knew the devil was working so that I wouldn’t grow spiritually. I give thanks to the Lord for my salvation and family, because if I wasn’t saved, I would already be divorced. I am praying the Lord will show me my gift so that I can be used. Please pray for my family’s spiritual growth and for my studies.” – Marcelo Camiolo

Jesthan was the first from his family to attend our Bible study. It was through him that his family heard the gospel and was saved. They used to be members of the Catholic Church and Jesthan studied at a Catholic school. He happened to attend our Bible study one time and his interest was peaked. He continued to study with us because he wanted to learn more about God’s word. Indeed, he has discovered many things about God and His word. He realized that God reached out to redeem us by sending His only Son to die on our behalf. Because of this, he realized the value of his spiritual life and began to share what he was learning with his family. Now this family is sharing the gospel with their relatives. Please pray for this family, that the Lord will work in their lives and that they will be committed to becoming His disciples, eventually growing to be mature Christians.

One of my members who was converted from Buddhism last year, recently shared the goodness of God in his life: “During the month of April, we were facing financial difficulties, struggling for daily bread. We prayed hard every day and night. The Lord answered our prayers and He provided our needs wonderfully. I experience these kinds of events many times in my life, showing me that our God is living. Praise the Lord.”
