Testimonies
from the Fields
“My wife Mengel and I are blessed
with three children. When Pastor Alinio and his family arrived
in our town, I was unemployed. A member of his fellowship invited
Mengel to their weekly Bible study and three months later, I
was hired as a laborer at Floro Camenforte Farm. Mengel told
me the pastor had prayed continuously for a job for me. In addition
to this, my brother was also hired. This led to the conversion
of all my family members, even my neighbors. Another blessing
that came from this is that we all have doctors now who will
see us free of charge—both owners of the farm are physicians.
The church has been built in front of our home, so we don’t
even have to spend money on transportation every Sunday and Wednesday.
Every
morning my family and I have devotions, which the Lord has used
to change us. The Lord has provided just enough for
us so that we are no longer living in poverty. We pray the Lord
will bless us with extra so we can bless our fellow Filipinos.
Pastor Alinio visits us and helps us in our spiritual walks.
In my workplace, we are now reading the Bible before starting
work, dedicating the land before tilling, asking the Lord’s
blessing before planting and giving thanks to God before harvesting.
Being new in the Lord, I don’t have enough courage to share
the good news, but I keep inviting friends and neighbors to attend
the Bible studies so that Pastor Alinio can share the gospel
effectively. I am currently playing the guitar in church every
Sunday and am willing to help Pastor Alinio in any way I can.” – Alejandro

in Calbayog, Samar, Philippines “ I have known Jesus Christ as my
Lord and Savior since I was a teenager. I was called by God to
be a church worker in
the Methodist
church for nearly four years. I got married and God blessed us
with a daughter. Toward the end of the four years, I was rejected
by the church because I believed the doctrine of eternal security.
I was forced to quit my job there and so I became a security
guard in order to support my family. My spiritual life went downhill
and my marriage was broken. A year later, I fell to temptation
and had a love affair with another woman which led to the birth
of a child. Ten years have passed and I am still separated from
my wife and the relationship I had with the second woman has
ended. I had to quit my job as a security guard because of arthritis
in my foot, so I left to return to my hometown. It is here that
I met Pastor Wilson Andres. He encouraged me to never give up
on my faith in God. At present, I am enrolled in the Theological
Education by Extension courses and I feel renewed and revitalized
again. Every Friday I spend at least two hours in biblical training.
Please pray I will be able to be reconciled with my family and
that I will be able to finish my TEE training. I really want
to be used by God in the ministry.” – Ricardo Abangan

"I received the Lord Jesus Christ
as my personal Lord and Savior when I attended a Bible study
conducted by Pastor Michael.
The
gospel had no value to me the first time I heard it. Maybe this
was because my parents never gave it any attention. Then I understood
what it was to believe in Jesus and that was the starting point
of my life as a Christian. I regularly attended church, but because
of the great distance, it became difficult to reach the venue
because of transportation costs. I thought that would be the
end of my spiritual journey because there was no other Christian
church nearby. But the Lord knows no boundary if we only trust
in Him. We were later told that Pastor Michael would be transferring
to our area to start a work here! I was so happy. Now my family
and I are attending a Bible study led by Pastor Michael. I pray
I will be able to help the church in spreading the word of God
to others. Please pray the Lord will supply our needs as we go
back to school this coming June. Life is hard and difficult and
my family has a hard time sending me and my siblings to school.” – Edison
