Testimonies
from the Fields
“I thank God I am able to know
Him as my Lord and Savior. I thank God for His great love to
me despite all the sins I have committed. Knowing Him is the
most special and important thing that has ever happened in my
life. He made a tremendous change in me. I praise Him for all
the wonderful things He is continuously doing in my life. I pray
that I will continue to grow spiritually. It is my desire to
serve Him faithfully. Please pray for me.” – Reyjohn

"I was born and raised in the province of Surigao
Del Norte. When I graduated from college, I started applying
for a job in Manila.
I was hired as a secretary at Alliance Truck Rebuilder and was
assigned to one of the branch offices in Bacoor, Cavite. Because
of this, my sister and I moved to Cavite. Last year, my employer
held a Christian values seminar and invited Pastor Joel Alfonso
to conduct it. At first, I only went because it was a mandatory
meeting held during office hours. Plus, I thought I was already
a good person. But as this seminar continued, I found that I
am a very self-centered person who didn’t need God. I realized
that I had no time for Him and I often blamed God in times of
difficulty. I never read my Bible. This seminar actually turned
into a Bible study series during which I was convicted by the
word of God. I realized I am a sinner and I have learned of the
great love God has given me through His Son Jesus Christ who
died on the cross for my sins. Now I do my best to go to church
every Sunday. I even make time to read the Bible. And now, in
difficult times, I go to 1 Corinthians 10:13 which really encourages
me and helps me to have faith in God and to trust Him. He is
in control of everything. I try my best, with the help of His
Holy Spirit, to be a good listener and to put others before me.
I have faith in God that the good work He began will be completed
according to His ways and in His time.” – Michelle

Praise God for the newest member of His
family. She is 18-year-old Gretchen Abillar; her nickname is
Chen Chen. She
works as a house
helper for one of the church members. Chen Chen says she comes
from a broken family she describes as dysfunctional, so she left
them. But God, in His great mercy and grace, led her to where
she is now. Because of all this, she has come to know Him. She
actively participates in Bible study, Sunday worship and in other
church activities. She is grateful for God’s provision
of this job because she had applied for many. But it was with
this Christian family that she received work, opening the door
for the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ to be proclaimed. Let
us pray for her, that she will grow in the knowledge of God and
that her life will manifest the life of Christ so that when she
returns to her family, she may be able to win them to the Lord. – Pastor
