Testimonies
from the Fields
“After suffering a very short but
tough illness, I was visited by a pastor at the hospital. I had
been in a coma for ten days. After his visit, I pondered the
idea that God was giving me a second chance. I’d tried
in the past to look for God in His word, but there was no one
who could explain it to me. On March 29, 2009 I surrendered my
life to God when a friend of mine invited me to Pastor Santillan’s
service. From that moment I have felt spiritual and physical
changes in my life. Nowadays, I struggle with the education of
three grandchildren. I am in charge of them because my son’s
wife abandoned them after a divorce. I praise and give honor
to God for everything in my life. I also give thanks to Him for
my eternal life. Please pray for the health and studies of my
granddaughter Luisina. Pray also for her salvation and that God
might give me the strength to continue doing what I am doing.
Thank you very much for your prayers!” – Lenor Ibañez

“
My life was so hard and difficult. The folks here in this area
knew of my bad reputation. I was involved in illegal drugs and
was detained for a long time. What’s even more painful
to me is that my son is currently in jail because of drugs. My
life had no direction. One day, I was able to attend a Christian
church here in San Juan. Actually, I was always invited to attend
the worship services of this church, but I always refused to
accept their invitation. However this time I was willing to go
because I wanted one of the mosquito nets they were distributing.
Pastor Wilson told me he would give a free net to those less
fortunate. I was among one of the 50 chosen recipients.
When
Pastor Wilson preached the word of God, I felt as if the Lord
had spoken straight to my heart. I realized how sinful I am,
but that God gave His love by sending His only begotten Son to
die on the cross for my sins. Who am I then to refuse His offer
of salvation? Right then and there I believed. Although my motive
was a free mosquito net, His motive was different. The message
of salvation became clear to me. I am saved because of my faith
in the finished work of Christ on the cross. Please pray for
me because I desire to know God more. Pray I will become a faithful
believer of our Lord Jesus Christ. Pray also that my son who
is in jail will be able to know God also.” – Eduardo

“
My wife Yehlyn was always telling me about Jesus. But I just
ignored her. We used to attend different churches every Sunday
because of our different beliefs. I would go to the Catholic
church while she would go to hers. There came a time when I could
no longer resist her invitation. I heard the word of God. It
opened my mind about my beliefs. From then on, I started going
to her church. I felt thirsty for the word of God. I wanted to
hear more about it. Last December, Pastor Jun Rendal and
Pastor Michael Bausin visited us. This was when I received the
Lord.
Both of them had explained God and salvation to me. The Lord
has indeed, opened my spiritual eyes to see the truth as revealed
in His word, the Bible. I believe in the work of Christ and now
I know I am saved. I am now regularly attending their church.
I pray I can bring my relatives and friends to God.” – Francis
