Testimonies
from the Fields
“Glory to God! If you will remember,
we were all praying for the funds to finish the roof of our church
building. God awesomely provided the payment for the rest of
the structure, but it lacked a roof. We attempted many ways to
go about getting a roof; we even approached some unbelievers,
asking if they would allow us to pay in installments for their
work on the roof. But we only failed and embarrassed ourselves.
It was then, on the night of New Year’s Eve, that I was
told the barangay captain was looking for me. So I went to the
barangay hall and he told me he would like to be the one to give
all the construction materials needed for the roof and flooring
of the building. He also committed to provide the contractor
and the payment for the laborer! So before 2010 had even begun,
God had provided all we needed for our church building. Praise
and thanks be to God! Thank you for praying for this need. We
are reminded that God is always faithful and hears our prayers.
To Him be all glory and honor alone. Amen!”

"Give all praises, honor and glory to God alone. Due to
your prayers and financial support for four whole years, my ministry
was blessed
by God through many difficulties and oppositions. By the answering
of our prayers, the church has been firmly established in this
town. Different churches strived to plant a church here through
the sending of cross-cultural missionaries for many years. But
they all failed. However, the Lord established a new church in
2007 with three family members. The Lord added more members so
that today, we have 72 members, including children. It is this
town’s first church. Praise the Lord! This is the fruit
of your labor. And now the gospel is spreading throughout the
surrounding villages. All glory be to God. Please do continue
to pray hard for this mission field.”

I was invited to be the lecturer of the Muslim youth camp
in Cebunga Cebu. They gathered about 64 Muslim youth from
different
places. In all honesty, I was going to deny their request to
speak because nine years ago, I held an evangelistic crusade
in a Muslim village and was nearly killed after I spoke of salvation
in Jesus alone. When we packed up our car and were leaving the
village, the people were lying in wait with stones in their hands
as they attacked us by throwing the stones at the car. They broke
the mirror and windows, but God was gracious in that not one
stone hit our bodies. However, I prayed about this request and
finally accepted the offer to teach them. There were three sessions.
In the first session, I presented the gospel and talked about
sin and death and why Jesus died on the cross. There were some
young people making noise and bothering me as I spoke, so I prayed
for them diligently before the second session. Finally by the
third lecture, I could see they understood the presentation and
I saw God moving the hearts of some of them as they stood, crying
and receiving Jesus Christ into their hearts. I encouraged them
to continue their faith in Jesus no matter the cost.”
