Testimonies
from the Fields
“My mother encouraged me to put my trust in the Lord Jesus
Christ. It was a struggle for me to believe; my father is not a
believer
and hinders my mother from going to church. She does her best to
be a witness to us—to the whole family. We live in constant
hardship because we are farmers of rice fields. Money is always
a source of discouragement. My father and his friends make fun
of my mother while they drink their liquor. They laugh and joke
in front of her, yet she remains silent. I know she is praying.
Seeing this, my sister and I are convinced that my mother is right
in trusting the Lord Jesus Christ. I have been baptized now and
desire to learn. Please keep me in your prayers.” – Christian

Ronald Lomocso received the Lord Jesus Christ
during one of my visitation rounds. He was a devout Roman Catholic.
According to
him, he was bound to that religion, yet he was hooked on vices,
like drinking, gambling and stealing. He was not a good husband,
by his own admission. He didn’t have peace of mind until
the day his brother Rodel shared the gospel with him. Rodel had
been converted and was very excited to join our fellowship. He
invited Ronald to one of our activities and it was there that God
touched his heart. Ronald confessed his sins and received Jesus
Christ as his Lord and Savior. The Messiah changed his life. Praise
the Lord! It was not long after this that Ronald and his wife were
baptized. Pray that they will grow in the knowledge of the Lord
and be committed to serving Him.
Pastor Mario Chavez, San
Isidro, Northern Samar, Philippines “
I have just graduated from high school, and I am not sure
if I will continue my studies in college because of my family’s
financial difficulties. What I am sure of is that I want to serve
the Lord. I started attending fellowship a year ago at the invitation
of Jocelyn, a faithful member of the church. Since then, I have
been interested in learning more about Jesus. My priority in life
used to be to study hard so that I could work, contributing to
the needs of my family. But it never seemed to get us anywhere. “When
I heard about the hope in Jesus, I decided to serve the Lord through
the music ministry. I found that I had a voice sufficient
to serve the Lord and minister to others. After several months
of training, I am now leading worship at our Sunday service. I
realize there is always hope in Jesus. Glory to God. Please pray
for me so that I can share the gospel with my parents. Though they
are not against my faith, it would be fulfilling to see them go
to church, learn about God and serve the Lord. Pray that the Lord
will minister to them.” – Ana Masula (17)
