Testimonies
from the Fields
We praise the Lord for new families that have been added to our
fellowship. One of them is the Galza family. Jerry and Lani are
new believers. They came to know Christ through one of our workers,
Jun. Jerry earns his living through fishing, and that is how Jun
met him and shared the gospel. Indeed, we thank God for this. Jerry
says, “I thank God that He loves me that much—that
He cares for me. I will always put my trust in Him alone.” Praise
God! Since then, Jerry has opened his home for a weekly Bible study
and is regularly attending Sunday service. He made the radical
decision to give his life and his family into the hands of the
Lord, no matter what others say or do against him. His parents,
friends and other close relatives have persecuted him. But according
to Jerry, there is no substitute to the truth he has found in Christ.
He says, “I don’t know what will happen to us in the
future, but one thing I am sure of is that I will make His word
a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path!” Please pray
for the Galza family, that the Lord will continue to bless them
and that they will grow spiritually. –
Pastor Marlon Tabuzo,
Dimaslang, Masbate, Philippines “ My name is Marietta Lacsana. I came to know Jesus Christ
as Lord and Savior through a Bible study. As I study the word of
God, there
are many things I am learning through the ministry of our Lord
Jesus Christ. Before I became a Christian, I was a nasty person.
I was always into trouble because I was very straightforward. But
the Lord changed me. His teachings have opened my eyes to be sympathetic
to others, especially those in need. The Lord is teaching me to
share what little things I have with the poor. My relatives and
neighbors treat me like the enemy now that I am a born again Christian.
They hurl harsh words against me, saying I went astray because
I changed my religion. I told them that religion will not save
me, but rather my belief in the saving work of my Lord and Savior
Jesus Christ. Despite my explanations, they continue to disown
me. I thank the Lord that Pastor Alinio encourages me with the
examples of Jesus Christ—how He was persecuted because He
proclaimed the gospel. Please pray for me, that I can bring all
members of my family to the Lord, especially my husband and only
son. Pray that I may grow in His word so I can really be patient
and show Christ-like attitudes to those who are persecuting me.”

“I am a native of barangay San Isidro, Bulan,
Sorsogon. I was born into a Roman Catholic family and believed
that the Bible is the word of God. The problem was that we didn’t
understand the messages in the Holy Bible until a group of Christian
workers visited us in our home and shared the gospel of the Lord
Jesus Christ. It started when my wife and I were both sick; Cora
and Jose came to visit us and offered to pray for us. But, they
first shared the gospel. We are truly blessed by the message we
heard from them. After the Bible study, they prayed for my wife
and me. We felt the presence of the Lord in our hearts. I give
God all the glory for all the wonderful things that have ever happened
to my family and me. We decided to serve the Lord with all our
hearts.”
