Testimonies

“Before I was Christian, I was an alcoholic. I could not
live without drinking. I had no confidence or hope in my life.
When I was invited to and joined the evangelistic campaign of Pastor
Vum, he taught us about salvation the whole day. I listened, but
nothing happened in my life. But when I slept in the night, my
heart was moved by his sharing; I could not sleep well for two
nights. I went to Pastor, and he told me about the love of God.
At that time I confessed my sin and received Jesus Christ as my
personal Savior and Lord. It was amazing that I could stop my drinking
right away. I believe it was not my ability or self-control; it
was because of Jesus, who enabled me to stop. He changed my desires
and bad habits. Now my life is full of hope in Jesus Christ. Praise
the Lord! Thank you.” – U Tan

Before I came to Christ, I was a pious Buddhist woman with
seven children—five girls and two boys. Pastor Htay shared
Jesus with me two years ago. At that time I listened and said ‘yes’ when
he asked me if I wanted to receive Jesus, but that ‘yes’ was
not really from my heart. By the grace of God, after Nargis cyclone,
my heart was changed. I sought help and went to Pastor Htay who
taught me about God. After that I received Jesus Christ as my Savior.
Before I became Christian, my family life was full of problems;
it was like living in the wilderness. But after receiving Jesus
Christ, my life is changed and I obtained a happy life, something
I had never before experienced. I now have peace and joy and don’t
worry about the future anymore, because I have Jesus who is everything.
Please continue to pray for me, so that I may grow in the knowledge
of God and witness for Christ to people around me. Thank you.” – Ma

The following
is a personal testimony of Esther Aniban (42): “I
learned about God during a very difficult time in my life. It was
when I discovered my daughter, who was to be married, had another
boyfriend. She wanted to cancel the planned wedding, which placed
our entire family in the middle of a scandal. I hurt my daughter
deeply because of my anger, causing her to leave. And at this point,
we still do not know where she went. Then one day, Pastor Quiamco
came to our house to talk about our hog-raising and poultry projects.
As we were talking, I shared our problem with him. That was when
he shared the word of God. My husband then joined us and we agreed
to hold a Bible study in our home. I thank God that we came to
know Him that day.”
