Testimonies
from the Fields
I received Christ on March 13, 2007 during an evangelistic
campaign. Global Missions Fellowship from the United States was
here at the
event. God has made special changes in my life since the time I
believed in Him. I am being discipled along with other brethren,
assist the church with the children and study the Bible on my own
at home. I am also involved in the church’s activities and
campaigns. I have been baptized, identifying myself with Christ
and the church. My pastor, by the grace of God, has helped me a
lot with my spiritual growth. He counsels me and prays for me.
My greatest trial is that I have an unbelieving husband. I thank
God for His salvation and the gift of eternal life that has been
given to my children and me. I thank Him for His love and for transforming
us into His children. I pray for my husband’s salvation,
for the spiritual growth of my children and that we will always
be on the path of the Lord.” – Liliana Salto de Rodrigues

Jun
Languido is a leader-in-training at my church plant. I have given
him many responsibilities. Jun works alongside his wife who is
very supportive. According to Jun, she was the one who encouraged
him into full-time ministry. Some complain about his incompetence,
but I know he is still learning. Jun has such a shepherd’s
heart for the people. God has transformed him in amazing ways.
Give thanks to God! Jun says, “[Before Christ] I didn’t
have hope. I thought I would just live today and tomorrow I would
die. But, my life was changed. Pastor Marlon shared the message
of God’s plan and He has been faithful to heal and provide
for my family’s daily needs. It was then I realized God is
interested in every detail of my life. Please pray for us as we
desire to be used by God in the ministry. Pray the Lord will bless
our work.”

I, along with my six siblings, come
from a messy family. My father is an alcoholic. I was the second
youngest, so I grew up watching
my father beat my older brothers and mother. Thankfully, my
mom took me to live with my grandparents. Yet, I still turned to
drinking and smoking. My grades started to fail and I no longer listened
to the counsel of my grandparents. It was sad to say that I
was
becoming my father. Realizing this, I did my best to finish
high school. Afterwards, I went with my mother and siblings to
Cebu
(my father was in jail). They became involved in a church there
and I had no other choice but to go with them. The messages
I heard gradually sank deeper into my heart until one day I repented
of
my sins. I continue growing in the Lord and He has freed me
from my vices. Through His power in me, I am able to withstand
all
temptation. Please pray for me, that the Lord will use me in the ministry.” – Jefferson
