Testimonies
from the Fields
“I am Fraida Ordovez. I am 31 years old and the mother of
two children. Last August, I received Jesus Christ as my personal
Savior. I used
to be a secretary in a big company but retired when my husband
decided to go abroad to work. Though I am a new Christian, the
Lord has tested my faith in different ways. My father and brother-in-law
became sick which caused financial devastation, because they are
dependant on me. Another test was when I learned that I had a blood
condition that could turn into leukemia if it wasn’t treated.
In addition to that, I was suffering from migraines. But God didn’t
let my faith in Him disappear. Instead He used Pastor David to
strengthen my faith through the Scriptures. I thank the Lord for
delivering me from my agony and bringing me healing. At present,
my father is still battling his sickness, but God is continuously
providing for our needs. Praise the Lord!”

“I want to thank God for the wonderful things
that He has done in my life. I am a soldier. For four years, I
was not able to attend church because I was in-training for the
army. I thank God that He remained faithful to me. Training to
be a soldier was not easy. God became my refuge during that time.
He gave me strength to pass everything in the army. Whenever I
felt like giving up, God was there to lift me up. God’s words
reminded me of His promises to His children. It was His word that
strengthened me.
“Though I was unable to attend church those four years,
I did not turn away from God. Whenever I had the opportunity to
show and
share my testimony to my fellow-soldiers, I took it. Most of the
time, they would ask me to lead the prayers during our programs.
I always took that as an opportunity to tell the people of the
greatness of God—even in prayers. My assignment in Mindoro
gave me more time to share God’s word to my fellow-soldiers.
The area in which we stayed was somewhat isolated. The only gadget
we had was cell phones; there was no other means of communication
or entertainment.
“I thank God that I have been assigned here in Tanay, Rizal because
it is closer to home. I can now visit my family, but the best thing
is I can once again attend Sunday services and be involved in the
church.”
