Testimonies

Testimony of Cecilia (14) “
I received
Christ after hearing the gospel at church. At first I was a very
carnal believer, but now I try to please the Lord in everything
that I do. I have a daily devotional time and am always trying
to win someone for Him. The pastor has helped me out a lot. I believe
my life would be a serious disaster if it weren’t for Pastor
Santillan. He was always praying for me and speaking to me about
following Christ. I have also made many friends at church who help
me in my spiritual walk and help me in making wise decisions. My
biggest struggle is my family. Although they know who the Lord
is, they do not live like the Lord wants.
At times it is hard for
me to continue ahead because I don’t feel their support in
each step that I take. I am very thankful to the Lord—during
the time that I was far away from Him, I realized that the world
is an uncomfortable, stifling, dark place. But, by His divine love
I can say that I live a life of grace. I am active in serving the
Lord by hosting a small group in my house. I am also involved in
the Bible club at church. I would like you to be in prayer for
my family, especially for my dad who is the head of the home. He
is separated from God and everything in my house is bad because
the Lord is not the priority. I also ask you to pray for the salvation
of my grandparents and for my spiritual growth."

Maritess Liedo “
I
am Maritess Liedo. I have been a Christian for quite some time
now, but I know I am still immature. My husband, Sonny Liedo, is
also a Christian and
just like me, he is immature too. Some called us backsliders, because
we were not obedient to the word of God and often skipped church
to work. My husband and I were always quarreling. Our five children
were affected, but we ignored them. I pretended that everything
was fine, but inside I was miserable. Our pastor and the church
members continued to visit us and pray for us. Now I am thanking
God, because I know He still loves us. Through their prayers and
consistent follow-up, the Lord spoke to us. We are now back in
the fellowship and are spending time in God’s word. Praise
the Lord! Please pray that the Lord will strengthen our faith as
we desire to grow in His word.”

Reynaldo and Maricel Cusi
Give praise to God for His work in the family of Reynaldo and Maricel
Cusi. Reynaldo and Maricel have seven children and a niece and
nephew who live with them. Reynaldo is a fisherman; the children
who are old enough help him in this work. Maricel is a housewife.
The first time we visited them, we shared the gospel and they responded
positively to the word of God. In fact, they were delighted that
we visited them and told us to come back another time so that they
could gather their whole family. The second time we came, the whole
family received Jesus in their lives. We now have a Bible study
in their home every Saturday. This is helping their family grow
in the Christian faith and they are increasing in the knowledge
of God’s word. Please pray that this Bible study will continue
and that the Cusi family will grow spiritually. Pray that they
will be able to attend our Sunday services. – Pastor Ely
