White
Fields specializes in providing collaborative start-up
support to pastors planting local churches among
their own people in other parts of the world.
Here’s
what that means:
Collaborative: We support men who will work with the accountability,
oversight, and
encouragement provided
by a nearby sending church, denomination, or missionary
team. We do not support men who want to work independently.
Start-up
support: White Fields is committed to developing
strong self-supporting national churches. We do this
by providing a full-time base salary (using the median
range for that local community) for one year, decreasing
that amount by 25% each year. After 4 or 5 years,
the
church is responsible to support their pastor’s
full salary. We are currently working in 13 countries.
Pastors: In the countries where we work, we have local committees
made up of North American missionaries,
local pastors and Christian business men. These
committees select the men who are trained and prepared
to begin
planting a church. They present an application
to our
main headquarters and our Director gives final
approval for all new church planters.
Among
their own people: The purpose of White Fields is to
support national
men in their own countries
working among their own people. In this way,
language and cultural
barriers are non-existent, and the message of
the Gospel can spread more quickly. Our focus is global;
we do
not
support church planters in North America.
Our
Vision: Our
vision is that the White Fields approach will be widely
recognized
and embraced as a great way for North American Christians
to personally participate in advancing the Great Commission.
