Your Prayers Have an Impact

The prayers of God’s people have a huge impact on the ministry of churches around the world. God has given us a privilege to come before his very throne of grace to intercede for people in need. Our pastors always thank me and tell me to express their thanks to the prayer partners of White Fields and make sure they all know that God is answering their prayers. They give the credit for successful ministry to the answers to your prayers.  The Apostle Paul asked the church in Colossae to pray for his ministry team:  “Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving. At the same time, pray also for us, that God may open to us a door for the word, to declare the mystery of Christ, on account of which I am in prison—that I may make it clear, which is how I ought to speak.”  (Colossians 4:2-4 ESV)

We can join our pastor in prayer, asking God daily to give them clarity to speak truth with precision — and, to open the hearts of the people so the word of God will take root in their hearts and that their understanding will be opened as they hear the gospel.  Ask God to unleash the transforming power of his word in the communities of the churches.

Here are some specific prayer requests from our current reports

The Middle East, Pastor Amjed:
This month we hosted a three-day medical clinic for the poor of the community. One woman, Fathima, came for the vision test and she read from the Psalms. I asked her if she knew the book, and she said it was the Bible and that she had read it before. She also asked me how she can become a Christian. My wife is .  .  .  [find more prayer requests and answers to prayer]

Argentina, Matias Buldain:
“Focus in Love” campaign is taking place now. A few weeks ago, we launched the project and encouraged the people to pray faithfully for ten people over the course of one month—these ten people being the ones who we will attempt to share the gospel with the second week of October. . . Here is a report about the progress of a church in the Middle East:
There is great joy when a church grows to maturity. We began supporting Pastor Musa in January of 2011. We have prayed for their safety and for God to open the hearts of people in this dangerous and hard place to believe in Jesus. Many have come to Christ and joined the church. Our goal through White Fields is to establish a church, not just get salvation. We want to follow the Great Commission. “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19-20 ESV)  Notice that the three underlined portions of the verses command us to disciple, baptize, and teach. These are best done in the context of a local church.

White Fields Ministry started supporting Pastor Musa with $1,000 per month in the year 2011. His family lived among the people in the same community that they were reaching with the gospel. As the new believers were added to the church we gradually decreased the amount of support. This will be the final year of their financial support because the church is growing into maturity and supporting themselves. The church has grown from just a few believers to having ten families trained and ready to become leaders in just five years.  As they become less in need of the financial support we can can move our support to other new ministries. This will grow a network of faithful churches working alongside one another.

From Pastor Musa:
“Ten families met this week for our quarterly church leadership committee meeting. We assigned leaders and support teams to oversee various aspects of the ministry for which I had previously been responsible. Each overseer has a strong team to assist him.” [continue to pray]  Pastor Musa is following the instructions of the Apostle Paul: “. . . and what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.” (2 Timothy 2:2 ESV)

**A special note regarding Pastor Raul Remada — We are praying for his family because his wife underwent surgery to remove two cysts from her breasts. She is recovering but still in pain. We praise God that even in the midst of personal family difficulties, they continue to serve young people in need.  Pray for them to have strength and peace during these times.
